New Chat System

This entry was posted by on Sunday, 20 November, 2016 at

As you have surely noticed on the right, I’ve changed chat systems. The old chat system was great but a huge server resource drain and increasingly erratic. This new one seems to be fast and stable. I hope you grow to like it.

The new chat system has some advantages I think you will enjoy, such as the ability to insert photos, youtube videos, and attachments. The downside is the waste of space by pinning the user list to the right – a feature I can turn off if people don’t like it. Also the input box is smaller than I’d like.

But if people are happy with this system I’ll consider upgrading to the “Pro” version which includes avatars and social media logins.

Please provide feedback as comments on this post. Thanks.

For posterity I have copied the most recent chats to the bottom of this message.

M Walsh [November 11, 2016 – 6:24 pm]: I was the Sweed referrer…
abennihana [November 12, 2016 – 1:58 pm]: Malsor is right. If the Steelers win this week, fans will jump right back on the Super Bowl train and if they do not absolutely crush the Browns the week after, or if they start the game about even like the Rats and then win by 21, the fans will turn on them again.
abennihana [November 12, 2016 – 2:20 pm]: Ladarius Green added to the roster, LJ Fort released.
endaround [November 12, 2016 – 2:32 pm]: Brown,Coates,Rogers and Hamilton..All speed burners..Run all 4 deep and toss to Green underneath..do that until the cowboys stop it….. run them deep and toss it to the back coming out ,,
abennihana [November 12, 2016 – 3:58 pm]: I’m more concerned about what our defense does. We need them to stop the run, especially on 3rd down. As for Green, he’s a long ball TE like Gronk.
JAMESH [November 12, 2016 – 5:41 pm]: If Coach Tomlin has any thoughts of soon revealing a 4-3 package, this would be the game to try it out. Hargrave and McCullers at DT with Tuitt and Heyward at DE a few times on suspected run plays would be fine by me and Dallas would not have game planned for it. Not going to happen.
abennihana [November 13, 2016 – 12:49 am]: They used to run a D like that as the Big Nickel.
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 6:23 am]: Their Big Nickel utilizes a Safety instead of a CB as the fifth DB with the front four consisting of two DEs acting as DTs and the two OKBs
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 6:23 am]: oops. And the two OKBs
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 6:23 am]: DAMN!
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 6:24 am]: And the two OLBs acting as DEs.
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 6:25 am]: Trying to type holding an IPad above my head.
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 8:37 am]: The Steeler’s deserve to be turned on for the way they’ve played on the road. I’ve never thought this was a Super Bowl team for that very reason
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 8:43 am]: I’m not worried about Dez Bryant today. Jason Whitten is the go to guy
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 8:49 am]: Its not the end of the world if they lose today but they can see it from here . They have to get to 10 wins . 9-7 might win the division .. maybe
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 10:12 am]: im contemplating playing tennis instead as its a 1:25 start. will take up half my day for a team that has no shot at a sb yet is the 2nd most talented team in the nfl. i loved watching when they were a 6-10 or 8-8 team and played to their talent level, clean games not making mistakes a HS team wouldnt make, acting like itdiots when they do make a good play along w the HC. remember everyone after u say “why dont they play like this every week” u will see the stains on their underwear next week in cleve. who are getting an xtra 3 days to prepare their celebration for their first victory of the season and then steeler nation will really lose it.. CANT WAIT!
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 10:15 am]: @earl: they will not lose today. altho i do not like the fact that dallas is a 2pt underdog. dallas shoulnt be able to match pitts intensity today but im sure garrett was able to have all their attention saying we are the 7-1 team and we are the underdogs..
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 10:17 am]: god EVERY” expert “(and non expert is picking pitt) that kinda worries me as far as my early prediction last sunday
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 10:30 am]: I hope you are right Malsor . Can they? sure . Will they ? I have many doubts. I stopped believing in this bunch last week. Just showing up at home doesn’t cut it
EstimatedProphet [November 13, 2016 – 10:36 am]: meh, the D can’t stop EE, he will have 150 yards, and it wont be close this week either
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 11:39 am]: Former Steeler: http://dolphinswire.usatoday.com/2016/11/12/former-dolphins-rb-isaiah-pead-reportedly-in-critical-condition-following-car-accident/
abennihana [November 13, 2016 – 12:27 pm]: JamesH, that’s the Quarter. The Big Nickel is a designed run D that allows for coverage flexibility. They run the quarter now. They haven’t run a Big Nickel like DLB’s since 2011.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 12:35 pm]: well apparently my wife thought threats were idle. going to play tennis then hit the weights. really dont care how much i miss at all. first time ever in my life this will happen (ill probably miss the first half altho they’ll have it on at the gym but i will definitely miss some and be in public which i used to hate doing while watching my steelers). enjoy the win for this week. its a moot anyway. they can preen and pimp and ball out because next week is the reckoning..
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 12:35 pm]: “moot point”
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 12:37 pm]: “my threats”
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 12:49 pm]: Have some faith! I am very cautiously optimistic that the Steelers show up for the first time in a month. Call me crazy. Go Steelers.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 1:07 pm]: Keanu Neal is really good…
abennihana [November 13, 2016 – 1:08 pm]: There are a TON of Cryboys fans at Heinz today. Our fans suck now. They leave games early or don’t show up at all. They’re so quiet that they offer the Steelers very little help with crowd noise, at least by comparison to Three Rivers. And now, they’re selling their seats. This is not the Steelers Nation we grew up with.
abennihana [November 13, 2016 – 1:09 pm]: Yes, Neal is good.
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 1:18 pm]: That is unacceptable that fans are not showing up. This is a significant game even without playoff implications. Beat the Cowgirls!
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 1:19 pm]: Good for you Malsor .. i just cant do it but I’m glad someone can
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 2:12 pm]: What I described is not their quarters package, Ben. http://steelerswire.usatoday.com/2016/06/10/taking-a-closer-look-at-the-steelers-big-nickel-defense-for-2016/
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 2:14 pm]: Quarters: http://www.sportingcharts.com/dictionary/nfl/quarter-defense.aspx
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 2:15 pm]: Steel Balls bitches!
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 2:16 pm]: Toby! Toby! Toby!
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 2:25 pm]: We’ll see right away how bad our D is.
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 2:28 pm]: Way to go Chickallo!
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 2:28 pm]: Chick!
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 2:29 pm]: Jesse is beefing up…
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 2:32 pm]: those short runs early will become big runs later in the game
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 2:33 pm]: LeVeon!!!
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 2:33 pm]: fucking wow.
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 2:34 pm]: No low energy Jeb today (so far). Go Steelers.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 2:35 pm]: Green isn’t as big as Jesse…why do they talk like he is?
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 2:36 pm]: Boz screws up again.
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 2:40 pm]: DL is invisible…
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 2:42 pm]: Timmons on Beasley is recipe for disaster. Good stop.
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 2:43 pm]: Held them to 3. Exhale.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 2:49 pm]: Abenn, why is Coates not playing?
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 2:49 pm]: hand injury
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 2:50 pm]: Wasn’t on injury report
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 2:51 pm]: maybe Hamilton passed him on the chart? [coates]
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 2:52 pm]: Bell is amazing..
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 2:55 pm]: Yes especially when rest of O shows up! Go Steelers.
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 2:55 pm]: Not doing well with the 2 point tries. I hope it doesn’t come back to haunt them.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 2:56 pm]: Would be nice to know that before the game…
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:01 pm]: every.week.injuries…….why?
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:03 pm]: Sounds like fans love Zeke. Pathetic.
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 3:04 pm]: That’s why you don’t blitz.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:04 pm]: Golden sucks, can we get him out of there…
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 3:04 pm]: Why can’t the Steelers handle screens??
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:05 pm]: Because the don’t do them on offense, so we don’t practice against them on defense.
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:05 pm]: Nobody near best player on field. Wow. That’s bad.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:05 pm]: just got home. looks like i thought except for the 2 pters. wow shazier got smoked and he is our fastest guy. elliot omg
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:06 pm]: its alright. game is in the bag. this is a playoff game for us
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:06 pm]: Why can’t Gilbert run back kicks. This team really is fucking stupid. By the way, they switch D when Burns went out
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 3:06 pm]: Malsor did you jinx them by returning.:P:P
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:07 pm]: Now back to stupid Haley plays
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:08 pm]: Coates playing Special Teams
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:08 pm]: Yes..great…
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:09 pm]: nice knee-drop on AB. I hate that stuff. i’d hate it if i saw our guys do it. why risk paralyzing a man for a game?
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:09 pm]: 40 points needed to win this game? Ds look porous.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:09 pm]: Throw to Grimble but not Coates…I don’t know why they don’t try to get him the ball in space
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:09 pm]: Once again, De played well, just one stupid fucking play
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:10 pm]: lol tennbob
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:10 pm]: We are the dumbing fucking team ever…
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:11 pm]: dumbest…so our own fans…
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:11 pm]: nice sweep on 3rd and 1
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:11 pm]: We need more Rogers
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:11 pm]: Refs missed facemask
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:12 pm]: Exactly Malsor
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:14 pm]: They needed to put Gilbert in for Burns…but our D coordinator is a moron
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:14 pm]: What was that call!? Enough of the penalties already!
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:15 pm]: refs are an abomination
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:17 pm]: i’d be pleased if Jarvis becomes a bona-fide run-stopper…
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:17 pm]: Ah delay of game!?
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:17 pm]: cant wait for next year when jjones has moved on. cant wait for the draft to take a top edge guy.
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:18 pm]: Agree malsor. JJ experiment is over.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:18 pm]: refs are the organs of the league, who i think dictates the outcome of certain game. it isn’t hard to flag a couple big plays and change outcomes of games.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:18 pm]: and cowboys have the lead thanks to the 2 ptrs.. i hope tomlin keeps going for 2 w this offense. no bryant or legit 2 wr. big difference than before but thats ok MT keep it up
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:19 pm]: Pretty sure it’s been done to us more than a couple times.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:20 pm]: as long as they can score TDs idc if they go for 2
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:20 pm]: thats my point tho. offense isnt the same w/o bryant so xtra points are critical
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:22 pm]: they arent as explosive and makeup for missed points w/o bryant but our HC hasnt noticed well into the 9th game of the year not to mention all the other examples of w and w/o bryant
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:23 pm]: 3 TEs right, throw led to AB
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:23 pm]: Left
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:23 pm]: oline is a sieve
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 3:23 pm]: There goes the game!
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:23 pm]: our O-line need to learn to keep on thier blocks thru the whistle b/c of the way L-Bell runs
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:24 pm]: A rare call for us on Ben
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:24 pm]: Aikman is an ASSHOLE…
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:25 pm]: a rare call to protect Ben
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:25 pm]: exactly walsh
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:25 pm]: Aikman in the tank.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:26 pm]: looks like cobi hamilton is the 2 wr. what happened to rogers
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:26 pm]: But why is Hamilton in there if they are not going to throw to him
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:26 pm]: What happened to Coates???
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:26 pm]: Fans aren’t cheering Ben’s return, cheering that Landry left
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:26 pm]: I hate this team
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:26 pm]: Eli is the #3/slot WR
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:26 pm]: im assuming its because he cant catch
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:27 pm]: lol walsh, join the party
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:27 pm]: Coates is better than Hamilton
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:27 pm]: Not even close
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:27 pm]: or run anything but a go route
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:27 pm]: he cant /wont finish his routes at the top
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:27 pm]: seen it all year
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:27 pm]: I hate this team
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:27 pm]: Enough of AB screens…
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:28 pm]: No deep shots yet
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:28 pm]: That was holding
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:29 pm]: He was covered by 5 guys
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:29 pm]: B 2 AB
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:29 pm]: BB 2 AB
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:29 pm]: why not go to Jesse- who has made that play?
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:29 pm]: Did I mention I hate this team
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:30 pm]: Yep, and Tomlin drafted Worlids instead
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:30 pm]: Here is a missed FG
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:30 pm]: hey look at the bright side they arent winnning the sb anyway. at least we get a better edge rusher
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:30 pm]: in the draft
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:31 pm]: Wizard is back!? Go Steelers.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:35 pm]: drafted Worilds instead of JOason Lee?
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 3:37 pm]: Sean Lee
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:37 pm]: A stop! Nice D. Get some points now!!
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:39 pm]: Des turned the wrong way
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:40 pm]: i notice that Tomlin’s teams seem to ignore a LOT of talent out of Pitt, Penn St and WVU. Guys right under their nose who vocalize wanting to play for PIT but Tomlin/Colbert overlooks or ignores them….Keuchly, Lee, Sheard, McCoy, Fitzgerald, Tavon Austin, Steadman Bailey, Curtis Martin, Lavarr Arrington etc etc …and so many more
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:42 pm]: about time for a DAL defender to get “injured”, just enough to get the d rested…
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:43 pm]: Time of possession advantage could be a big factor if it continues in second half. Go Steelers.
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:43 pm]: More Rogers
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:44 pm]: more Jesse James- way faster than you think
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:45 pm]: Both find the seams
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 3:45 pm]: Refs suck!
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:45 pm]: he turned him..
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:46 pm]: Awful no call awful.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:46 pm]: Wow, the REFS SUCK!!!!!
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 3:47 pm]: Why is fucking Hamilton in there if they are not even looking at him
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:47 pm]: was it fair to body-slam BB long after the play?
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:47 pm]: Cause the Cowboys are afraid of him?
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 3:48 pm]: Whatever happened to coffin corner punts?
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:48 pm]: I agree Tobiathan. Looked pretty unnecessary. We squandered that one.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:50 pm]: looks like s.thomas and johnson are out the remainder of the game. that’ll give two other guys the opportunities for ST gaffes/penalties
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:51 pm]: Best DB play all year that series. Go Steelers.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:51 pm]: nice play by Ross
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 3:52 pm]: cockrell a real find
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:52 pm]: CB and S blitz
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:53 pm]: we need Big-V in the middle of the line of K-block units
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:53 pm]: Go deep for PI
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:53 pm]: Too late
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:56 pm]: Cowgirls DBs are terrible.
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:56 pm]: Starting S and CB are out for this game
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:57 pm]: Exactly
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:58 pm]: long enough to destroy any rhythm..
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 3:58 pm]: Let’s go Wizard!
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 3:59 pm]: Hail Mary had better odds
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 3:59 pm]: easy to say now, but they shoulda tried a deep pass
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:00 pm]: Don’t forget to check out your Moon Rise tonight and tomorrow. Super Moon.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 4:01 pm]: good point- SUPERMOON!
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:02 pm]: Warren’s lil brother
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:03 pm]: Great commercial from Chase
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 4:03 pm]: Ben just tied Warren Moon for td’s today.
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:05 pm]: Who’s next on the list?
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:06 pm]: Phillip Rivers, then John Elway
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:08 pm]: Boz is not good from the left hashmark. Aben, give us a breakdown….
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 4:14 pm]: Cobi!
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:14 pm]: HOW DO YOU HAVE A BROKEN PLAY!!!
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 4:16 pm]: AMEN!! Take advantage of these DBs!
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 4:17 pm]: look for td’s instead of flags…
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 4:18 pm]: Why does Ben lock on AB?
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:19 pm]: Did I just take over as OC?
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 4:19 pm]: Because he is the best WR on the planet!?
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 4:19 pm]: Better than nothing.
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 4:20 pm]: What is puzzling to me is why 26 didn’t touch the pigskin on that series… Go Steelers.
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 4:20 pm]: @cerone: Yes that’s why someone else is probably open. Listening on SNR and can’t see game.
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 4:21 pm]: I get your point. Just messing a bit.
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:24 pm]: Cockerel hurt
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:24 pm]: Cockerel hurt
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:27 pm]: Cockrell still playing
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:29 pm]: Debo almost got there
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 4:30 pm]: Damn.
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 4:31 pm]: Burns cover Bryant. don’t allow the catch!
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 4:32 pm]: Deebo!
tennbob [November 13, 2016 – 4:32 pm]: Deebo gets the sack record!
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 4:32 pm]: don’t forget Silverback!
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 4:33 pm]: The D is better when 92 is in there. Go O!
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 4:33 pm]: yeah? was that the record? will he get a full sacck on that or will it be a “half-sack”?
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:37 pm]: Looked like a half with Tuitt
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:39 pm]: This offense sucks…
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:39 pm]: Big Dummy
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:39 pm]: Haley sucks…I am so sick of him…
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:40 pm]: ST sucks
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:40 pm]: This team sucks
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 4:40 pm]: Time of possession now a disadvantage. The O has to get out of its slumber, again n
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:41 pm]: Sorry, again this team is being outcoached…
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:41 pm]: I gave him 8 games before I posted this…Tomlin needs to go.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 4:41 pm]: its avg w/o bryant. the hope was that coates would be a legit 2 and green would help take the top off. both are so far off of that goal that coates is simply a go route guy w bad hands and green well, is green
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 4:42 pm]: something w our TEs and green just doesnt work out well for us despite the two examples having so much talent
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:42 pm]: Coates had the guy beat, he was interfered with TWICE!! Now Haley and Tomlin put him back on the bench. Fuck you Tomlin, Fuck you Haley
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:43 pm]: They say Rogers who could have helped us beat the Pats…fuck you Tomlin
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:43 pm]: sat
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 4:44 pm]: Cowgirls O reminds me of Steelers Onin early days of Ben…
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 4:44 pm]: that was me last week lol. now im apathetic for the remainder of tomlins regime until they show me theyre a mentally tough and mature team that handle themselves appropriately during a 16 game season
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 4:45 pm]: Yuuuuge off push-off, but no flag…
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:45 pm]: And take fucking Butler with you…
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 4:46 pm]: Tough ask of Artie covering that guy but he has to do better. The O has to step up now for the sake of the season. Go Steelers.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 4:47 pm]: not that big a deal if we can get our offense on track. it’s still a ball game
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 4:48 pm]: this is the nadir of this era. ive never seen so many cowshit/visitors at our place. while i have emotionally quit on this team if i was a season holder i wouldnt sell my tix so visitors could get them
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 4:48 pm]: it wouldn’t hurt to play Vinny in place of Timmons to help stop the run…
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 4:49 pm]: Like Vinny but he ain’t the answer to our problems…
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:51 pm]: This team is going nowhere under the current coaching staff. The think they are great, when, in reality, they actually really suck…
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 4:51 pm]: not overall but he does play the run better than Timmons. even rotating them would help restrain Elliot, who is 2/3 of thier offense
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:52 pm]: @malsor: The fans have realized what you and I know. This team is not going anywhere under Tomlin.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:52 pm]: Tomlin, no splash plays…blah blah blah…how many splash plays today against…
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 4:53 pm]: @walsh avg offense w/o bryant(that motherfucker better be sober or figuring out how to beat the test) and a below avg defense and sts. dont get me started on the coaching
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:53 pm]: Defense is playing better but I think Butler sucks…’
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 4:54 pm]: we need a year of high picks in every round (edge rushers, wr, LT) and dupree, golson and of course bryant to be the team i hope for altho they’ll still blow easy games on the road
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 4:55 pm]: cant wait for that NE/ dallas sb!
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 4:55 pm]: going to be interesting what they do w ab and bell if this trajectory holds
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 4:56 pm]: lmaof
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:56 pm]: Fire Haley now, and Tomlin…
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:56 pm]: Getting uglier
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:57 pm]: I am so done with the overrated joke of a team…
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 4:57 pm]: The O is our main problem. Totally inconsistent.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:57 pm]: We need new leadership…
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:57 pm]: This is a joke…
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 4:58 pm]: “paper champions”
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:58 pm]: I am full on Tomlin needs to go now…
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:58 pm]: 4 losses in a row…3 of them winnable…
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:59 pm]: Defense needs to do something NOW if we are to have a chance in this game
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:59 pm]: What is he gonna say now….one team came prepared the other team was us…
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 4:59 pm]: Cowgirls are for real, which makes our mediocre play all the more frustrating.
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 4:59 pm]: Test
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 4:59 pm]: @JAMESH: Does it matter? This team has proven we are going nowhere…
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:00 pm]: D has no playmakers except 92…frustrating and concerning.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:00 pm]: it is getting tiresome, being outcoached and consistent under-performance and failure to adapt to in-game scenarios.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:00 pm]: offense is nothing w/o bryant
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:00 pm]: no- #56 Chickillo is a playmaker.
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:01 pm]: True when he plays…
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:06 pm]: Reward Rogers
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:07 pm]: I hate Haley
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:07 pm]: only bryant can do quick passes/ end arounds and turn them into big plays (sans one play by DHB this year)
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:08 pm]: The Outlaw! Let’s go!!
EstimatedProphet [November 13, 2016 – 5:08 pm]: will it 2 or 3 Bell runs?
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:09 pm]: Will have to pay the man one day
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:09 pm]: all they need is a fg to win thanks to the 3pts. over 7 min left
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:10 pm]: Live and die by 2 pointers…don’t live in your fears I guess.
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:10 pm]: 33 with the defensive knock down
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:10 pm]: Too effin funny
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:10 pm]: this is fucking unreal w the 2 ptrs. they dont realize its not the same fucking offense yet?
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:11 pm]: not they but tomlin/haley!?!?!?!
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:11 pm]: Well no choice but to go for 2 there. Plus the play was there. 33 tried to be a hero.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:12 pm]: the play was there? it was a backhanded toss w ben running to his left
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:12 pm]: that play works w/o Toissant- but does anyone dare let a ball go past them?
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:12 pm]: Deeee Fense!
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:13 pm]: Still JJ would have had it.
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:13 pm]: Don’t give up yet
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:13 pm]: won’t matter: we win in the waning seconds to shock them…
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:13 pm]: Stoooooopid
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:13 pm]: im more upset about dallas winning than us losing
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:14 pm]: This team plays dumber than Tomlin
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:14 pm]: That’s Mitchel’s job
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:14 pm]: It’s the entire team…failure of the head coach.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:15 pm]: Can these fucking assholes ever cover the back out of the backfield…
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:15 pm]: ?Ben isn’t himself yet either..
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:15 pm]: let them score for christ sakes
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:16 pm]: going to take all the time off. bailey is automatic
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:16 pm]: Hey ward hurt?
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:16 pm]: imagine we should be up by 4 but we dont live in our fears
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:16 pm]: why is Mathews in there?
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:16 pm]: Btw Moates sucks
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:17 pm]: we live in hell because tomlin is our coach
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:17 pm]: Cowgirls kill clock and move the ball like the Steelers used to…miss those days. Go D!
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:17 pm]: Hayward back
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:17 pm]: Tomlin is still there
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:18 pm]: im going to imagine its 27-23 and tomlin has gone on to politics 🙂
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:18 pm]: or whatever his lifes work is
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:18 pm]: Does this team cover anyone?
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:19 pm]: Stop with the bravado
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:19 pm]: Must have felt good against his buckeye
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:20 pm]: Goodbye Tomlin
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:20 pm]: we still lack strengthon the DL; until we generate high-pct pressure from our d-line we’ll never get to see how good our d-backs can be until we get pressure on the QB
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:20 pm]: Good play. Hard to stop that.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:20 pm]: @Tuskegee_Brown: stop please
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:21 pm]: I agree T. Our front ain’t getting it done. The O is also a problem. Not good.
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:22 pm]: No I am good. Never A sky is falling guy. Guess what the other team can and will play too and will make plays. No problem giving them credit.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:23 pm]: sky didnt fall it fell my friends. i think they allowed that . good coaching finally !!!
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:23 pm]: I doubt Tomlin wanted that, but that was the play.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:24 pm]: game was over if they ran it out
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:24 pm]: Bill Walsh said ALWAYS build a football team from the inside[o- and d-lines] if ya wanna be ready for long-term success.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:24 pm]: ran the clock down
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:24 pm]: Our D can execute that play well…
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:24 pm]: Now its Ben’s time finally lead a game winning TD drive again.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:24 pm]: lol cerone
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:25 pm]: Coaches put the team in the best position to win…
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:25 pm]: yeah finally coaching and execution came together
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:25 pm]: thing of beauty
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:25 pm]: This drive may be to salvage the season. Go Steelers.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:25 pm]: Dallas IS a pretty good team btw
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:25 pm]: @malsor: Go out there and suck. I can do that coach.
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:26 pm]: Cowgirls are solid and could be so for a long time. Pains me to say that.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:26 pm]: This is the NE game. We play just good enough to lose. That’s coaching.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:26 pm]: dallas is tobi on the road and our backs were against the wall. what about the other performances against bad teams?
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:26 pm]: u got our “A” game today
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:26 pm]: this was probably dallas “B” game
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:26 pm]: esp. if Prescott is for real…
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:27 pm]: See, Coates realized our ST sucks
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:27 pm]: why did they let Ben get this shot??
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:28 pm]: Aikman is dying…
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:29 pm]: too much time lol
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:29 pm]: Way to go MT!!!
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:29 pm]: Tee Hee
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:30 pm]: Too much time
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:30 pm]: 2-pt conversion again

malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:30 pm]: lol
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:30 pm]: hahahahahah
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:31 pm]: funniest fucking thing EVER!!! 4 fucking points
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:31 pm]: 32-30 final
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:31 pm]: fire him right there mr rooney for everything that is still holy in this world
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:32 pm]: Onside kick!
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:32 pm]: we thought the 2 pointer in the 3rd qtr from the 12 yard line was bad in the playoffs against jville his rookie year?!
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:33 pm]: We all know how this is going to end
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:33 pm]: 42 long seconds.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:33 pm]: let the defense wake up now!
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:33 pm]: either way doesnt excuse the situation james
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:33 pm]: Indeed…painful.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:33 pm]: Why is Harrison not in there????
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:34 pm]: Outstanding question.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:34 pm]: remember bailey is probably the best in the nfl right now
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:34 pm]: We need a D.Townsend type TO.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:35 pm]: I do not accept defeatism in any form.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:35 pm]: @cerone: Jarvis sucks
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:35 pm]: Just can’t get to the QB
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:35 pm]: JJ era over
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:35 pm]: at tobi: i accepted it a long time ago well last week as it pertains to tomlin
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:36 pm]: it began?
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:36 pm]: facemask!
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:36 pm]: omg
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:36 pm]: holy shit
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:36 pm]: Ala Bengals
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:37 pm]: and that is why u kick the xtra points
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:37 pm]: season is over
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:37 pm]: Inexplicable. Awful.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:37 pm]: surprising?
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:37 pm]: Fire Tomlin
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:37 pm]: come to the dark side everyone
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:37 pm]: it feels good to not be disappointed
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:37 pm]: Of course
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:38 pm]: Please fire Tomlin
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:38 pm]: hahahaha
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:38 pm]: Now Ben’s time to shine!
JAMESH [November 13, 2016 – 5:38 pm]: As I said earlier, we all know how this is going to end
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:38 pm]: Holding
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:38 pm]: JJ just out of it.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:38 pm]: fucked up my fantasy day..damn
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:39 pm]: @Tuskegee_Brown: aha…now i see what you’re doing there..i approve
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:39 pm]: You put JJ in instead of Harrison
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 5:39 pm]: This is the worst game I have ever watched. Worse than blowouts against bad teams. Pathetic. Season over. So painful. Locker room and coaches cannot survive this. Terrible.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:39 pm]: Fuck Tomlin, I’m done
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:39 pm]: @cerone, welcome my friend
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:39 pm]: all our guys had big stats
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:39 pm]: walsh u were already there
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:39 pm]: I gave him 8 games
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:40 pm]: this team is too stupid to win
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:40 pm]: all set up by the 2pts
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:40 pm]: changed that whole drive. they would have lost anyway on a fg. fuckig elliot killed my fantasy day
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:40 pm]: which i actually care about more than this team
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:44 pm]: Nightmare scenerio for Pats vs Dal steams forward.
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 5:44 pm]: SB
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 5:45 pm]: When does Butler get fired … what a shit defense
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:45 pm]: How can you not start talking about removing Tomlin. His second 4 game losing streak.
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 5:45 pm]: He’s safe
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:45 pm]: w/o elliot’s break-out run we win
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:45 pm]: Funny part is in the last 42 seconds they had 2 facemasks. This team is an epic failure.
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 5:45 pm]: You said it .. they are too fucking stupid to win . They dont know how
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 5:46 pm]: The Whiten play should have been blown dead
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:46 pm]: No, you shouldn’t facemask him
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:47 pm]: This team lost 4 in a row after 4-1. Please fire Tomlin.
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 5:47 pm]: He was stopped . Oh well , I knew they were going to lose even after they went up with 42 seconds. Thats what kind of team this is
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:48 pm]: Can I root for Cleveland next week.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:48 pm]: Ben and the offense did their jobs more than the rest of the team did today.
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 5:48 pm]: 2 point Tomlin strikes again
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 5:48 pm]: Hope and Promise Fade .. turn out the lights the party is over
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 5:49 pm]: 2 point tomlin lmaof. later guys.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:49 pm]: so sad…after that okey-doke sneak TD
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 5:49 pm]: Agreed Tobiathan .. problem is where was that last week ? Fuck
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:50 pm]: again….Dallas is a kinda good team, too.
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 5:50 pm]: Dallas has a good team . That Elliot kid is the real deal . Precott too
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:50 pm]: they scored 30 points!
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:51 pm]: Coaching lost this game.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:51 pm]: )*our guys scored 30
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 5:51 pm]: Against a Shower Curtain defense
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:51 pm]: lol
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 5:51 pm]: They have to win 6 of the last 7. I just dont see it happening
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:53 pm]: i’m still pround of them. yes- i wanted a W, but this is next best thing.
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 5:54 pm]: Wow we waited all that time for a Butler defense and this is what we get ???
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:54 pm]: Ok. I will leave everyone with this.
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 5:55 pm]: 4 two pointers plus a missed field goal ..game over
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 5:55 pm]: The kid stood under pressure and delivered some great throws . You have to give him credit
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:55 pm]: With 42 seconds left Jarvis is on the field and our all time leading sacker is on the bench. Failure.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:56 pm]: With 42 seconds left out HORRIBLE tackling team commits TWO facemask penalties…FAILURE>
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 5:57 pm]: that kid cost us the game last week and this game
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:57 pm]: No other team would have allowed such ineptitude to happen with 42 seconds left.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:57 pm]: oh, i think they’ll run the table after today- we nearly beat the best team in the game. This is still a very young group Wish BB would take charge more.
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 5:57 pm]: I thought they would go 2-2 through this stretch. Never dreamed 0-4 . Tomlin sucks donkey balls . So does Colbert .
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:57 pm]: You guys are delusion. Take Cleveland and the points.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:57 pm]: lol….Walsh you’re likely right.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:57 pm]: TWO FACEMASKS…
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:58 pm]: 42 fucking seconds.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:58 pm]: The funny part is i WANTED the spike.
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 5:58 pm]: Lets play golf next Sunday Walsh ? Fuck-em
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:58 pm]: When Ben threw the TD I knew we lost.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 5:59 pm]: I missed a hockey game for this…at least it was a good game, but it proves to me our coaches cost us 7-10 points a game.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 5:59 pm]: i’m not sure Ben is fully healthy, tbh
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 6:01 pm]: that fake spike will get him HOF talk; that was some badass shit rite thar.
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 6:02 pm]: Luckily the AFCN is still trash.
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 6:03 pm]: Even if we do take the north,,this defense will not get us past 1 playoff game
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:03 pm]: At the end of the day, even with all that two pointer misses, the D had two chances to preserve a lead. How hte hell does the D give you that garbage after your QB makes a throw like that
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:03 pm]: Time to demote COlbert. Mitchell is garbbage
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:03 pm]: Timmons is done
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:03 pm]: Jarvis is a bust
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:04 pm]: Idiot Colbert shoudl have signed Weddell instead of Green. WRONG CHARGER
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 6:04 pm]: Agreed on Weddle…
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:04 pm]: And what the fuck were our TEs doing on 3 of trhose four 2 point conversions? Jesse was too slow in getting back to the ball and not fighting hard enough through some uncalled contact. Greeen dropped one.
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 6:05 pm]: I still want to know why Coates was benched
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:05 pm]: And why the hell do you waste a spot on Touissant on one of those 2 pointers???? Why wouldnt you get your 5 best playmakers
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 6:06 pm]: where was bell on those 2 pointers,,no swing pass to him
M Walsh [November 13, 2016 – 6:06 pm]: @saneman: Coaching?
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:07 pm]: 3rd and 11. what a fucking stupid defense. Burns was actually damn good in this game. He just got no help
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:07 pm]: Absolutely no help
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 6:07 pm]: Coates is starting to feel like a bust now .. He has fucking disappeared
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 6:07 pm]: Remember when we would always beat rookie QBs?
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:07 pm]: Horrible safeites
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:07 pm]: Wheaton is a bust, Coates will recover
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 6:07 pm]: That was clearly pass interference on him .WTF?
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:08 pm]: and i thought Jesse James was held on the key 2 pointer
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:09 pm]: This D showed no fight
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 6:09 pm]: we won’t get those calls…the league has already figured who they wan tin the playoffs and you can bet your ass,,,,,,,,,we ain’t no part of it
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:09 pm]: This D will keep games close early on because the other team doesnt have that same desperation early on
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:10 pm]: But they are garbage
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 6:10 pm]: the worst defense I have seen in awhile
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:10 pm]: Heyward is wearing down too. He cant do it all
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:10 pm]: Burns and Cockrell I am fine with. The front 7 is a joke. Shazier is good, but he is not great enough to make up for his injuries
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 6:11 pm]: Our D goes as the DL and OLB go. Those positions are weak except Cam so the D is weak. Artie played well. He is a keeper. Davis has potential but there are growing pains with him, too many. Go Steelers (2017).
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:11 pm]: Harrison, even past his prime, was able to get to the QB much better than JArvis
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:11 pm]: Jarvis was getting pushed around by their guys.
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 6:11 pm]: JJ experiment failed. No credit for trying either. Time to move on now.
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 6:12 pm]: the defence does lack a definitive leadership; B doesn’t take ownership of the whole team like a Tom Brady.
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 6:13 pm]: going to be interested to hear what tomlin blames this game on
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 6:13 pm]: What did our fearful leader say afterwards? His act is officially old.
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:13 pm]: Why did Moats get so much time? He looked worse than Chickillo
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:13 pm]: Moats has taken a step back this year
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 6:14 pm]: Moats is a solid practice team player.
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 6:14 pm]: well with the way it’s going we could be drafting in the top 10…
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 6:15 pm]: On the bright side, its almost time to “Unleash Hell”.
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 6:15 pm]: The defense coaches all need replaced..from the d line to the LB’s to the secondary..something is totally wrong
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:16 pm]: colbert needs to be dmoeted
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 6:16 pm]: might be worth it if you’d have a solid defensive n offensive lines.
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:16 pm]: colbert has done an awful job with the d
tobiathan [November 13, 2016 – 6:17 pm]: demoted too
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:17 pm]: make him asst gm of d
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:17 pm]: i mean offense
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:17 pm]: he has no business being gm
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 6:20 pm]: How about fucking Boswell kicking it OB ? That cost em 3 points . Special teams blow. The big punt return
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 6:21 pm]: I believe it’s going to be years before we see this team back to the SB…Especially if the Rooneys don’t do anything this off season.
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 6:23 pm]: It all seems so bleak now after seeming so promising not that long ago. Changes are in order in the offseason – inside and outside the sidelines, but there is no quick fix especially on D.
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 6:23 pm]: You have to get some calls and they didnt get any. At least 2 PI/Holding took potential points off the board
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 6:24 pm]: If they rely on the draft – true. If the go find some help on D in FA , maybe not . You know like Denver did
Earl [November 13, 2016 – 6:26 pm]: If the beat the teams they SHOULD beat we wouldn’t be so upset. Tough loss against a really good team. But after they fed of us 3 straight weeks of shit burgers, we needed a win. 4 – 5 … It doesnt seem real
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 6:31 pm]: This team has no Hines ward,no Heath Miller,no Troy P,no Bettis,no Aaron Smithno Farrior to lead this team..It’s nothing but a freaking three ring circus happening….
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 6:31 pm]: True that, Earl. There should be a lot of finger pointing going on because there are many culprits on the team for this brilliant mediocrity. I sort of feel bad for BB since the window is shutting on him and this team.
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 6:33 pm]: 7 wins to make 11-5…very doubtful !!!!
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 6:35 pm]: Well ,we are finally seeing what happens when Tomlin has hos own players..Not to ride the fucking coat tails of Cowher’s players
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:43 pm]: You do realize Ben was not Cowher’s choice
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:43 pm]: ‘Ben was drafted because Dan Rooney stepped in
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:43 pm]: Without ben, Cowher wouldnt have had a sinle SB
Tuskegee_Brown [November 13, 2016 – 6:44 pm]: But he would have had Shawn Andrews
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:46 pm]: Our 2nd round rookie gives them the game. their 4th round rookie wins them the game
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:47 pm]: A rookie Ben beat Cowboysi nan exciting game. Prescott returned the favor today
saneman [November 13, 2016 – 6:47 pm]: We could have had that fucking guy instead of Davis
copanut [November 13, 2016 – 7:26 pm]: Well, I’m getting tired of this shit. Good news is the secondary is no longer the weak link. The front 7 just is not able to get the job done, getting gashed on too many run and screen plays (longest Cowboys play in 30 years, following last week’s record play by Ravens) and can’t stop the QB seemingly ever.
cerone [November 13, 2016 – 7:36 pm]: Completely agree. The DL and OLB corps are playing well “below the line”. It could take years to fix this problem absent a couple of key free agent pick ups and a draft gem or two. I do not believe this coaching/GM crew is capable of applying this fix. The O has been just flat out inconsistent though the pieces are at least there. Nevertheless, go Steelers. I am not optimistic the team can piece it together to salvage the season…
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 9:00 pm]: tomlin on the 2 pointers “thats not out of line w our personality” lmaof. what personality is that? to have absolutely no basic logic when u do your “gut” BULLSHIT shenangins every game. from the fake fgs, to the punts, to the 56 yard fgs because he made it when he tried out, to going for 2s when u arent the same fucking offense without bryant but u dont even know that yet
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 9:03 pm]: how about jordan berry running around the end on a 4th and 8 when berry is 7 yards behind the LOS? so your asking your punter to run for 15 yards from a sit position around the edge and not have your incredible offense go for the first down if you are so confident in there ability to get 2s. why not after missing the first 2 do u not kick from there? changes the entire drive. they would have had to score a td not kick a fg. does anyone not get that?
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 9:07 pm]: look at the bright side tomlin. next year u can motivate them by having the “redemption season” but u better pray bryant stays sober because that was the teams identity (a dynamic offense) and he was the main reason
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 9:11 pm]: and mike mithchell is fucking horrendous. i only mention him because not only does his play suck but his attitude as well. probably a tomlin guy. remember what steve smith said
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 9:32 pm]: carroll has been hanging w tomlin
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 9:32 pm]: i think blount is the better pure rb lol. of course he was a cancer with us then becomes franco harris in ne
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 9:33 pm]: looking back i absolved pitt and tomlin i now think it was due to the lack of leadership from the coach
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 10:04 pm]: in theory the team could be structured just like the cowboys if u r to believe that our oline is as good as advertised or paid (the one exception being AV compared to all pro tyron smith of dallas). u make it a run oriented team w bell and try to keep the defense off the field. unless the team gets bryant back this might have to be the way..
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 10:15 pm]: OK let me get this straight..First off you run BA out of town…Then you fire your ST coach to bring in D Smith..Does the D stand for Dumbass ?? Then you run DL out of town for Butler…Apparently the only one left is,,,,,YOU !!!But we all know that’s not going to happen since the rooney’s have fallen all over you…
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 10:21 pm]: This front 7 are horrible to say the least…The only one trying to really do anything is Heyward…I sit and watch most of the defenses in the league and even those teams that aren’t supposed to be all that good..At least has some pass rush..so here we are,on a 4 game losing streak..Who would have ever thought that the game against the Fins would be the precursor for the next 3 games..
endaround [November 13, 2016 – 10:26 pm]: How do you say,Undisciplined…Lets start with this Sean Davis…Last week he didn’t even block the guy in front of him on the blocked punt,,and then this evening he gives the Cowboys a 15 yard penalty on a facemask…I wonder how many other coaches in this league would put up with your BS play…
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 10:35 pm]: they might have the worst front 7 in the nfl. amazing considering all the high picks there. god jjones killed us with that pick
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 10:38 pm]: btw has anyone noticed that valentino (antwon) blake is doing well as the 3rd cb in tenn. and their other backup is brice mccain..
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 10:39 pm]: i wonder if dwill will tweet “dallas we will see u again in the super bowl and it will be different” like he did when they got shellacked by NE (of course he said january when tweeting NE). fucking team is delusional
abennihana [November 13, 2016 – 10:55 pm]: OK, I gotta call BS on putting this on Davis. First, the call on that punt was for Davis to what he did and for Rob Golden to block the guy who blocked the punt. Second, if you think that that facemask penalty at top speed was easy to avoid, you’re fooling yourself.
abennihana [November 13, 2016 – 10:58 pm]: Until they can stop the run, opposing teams will be able to dictate the game and not vice versa.
I know people want a pass rush, but that follows.
No one tried to run on the Steelers 10 years ago and it made rushing the passer that much easier.
abennihana [November 13, 2016 – 11:00 pm]: Bottom line, this team just isn’t as good as they were billed to be.
abennihana [November 13, 2016 – 11:05 pm]: Steelers scored too fast on that last drive, unfortunately. Expecting our D to stop a team with 42 seconds left and 71 yards to score a game winning TD is completely unrealistic.
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 11:12 pm]: all they needed was a fg thanks to tomlin’s 2s. if they needed a td i don think they get it. i know they dont. theyre playing deep safeties as soon as they get to the 30 and not allowing a td. that elloit play happened as they sold out to stop the run to make the fg harder
malsor [November 13, 2016 – 11:15 pm]: they have not won since “redemption sunday” lol. at least tomlin will have a catchy name for next season “redemption year-2017”. better pray for bryant
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 5:50 am]: Its disturbing the way their O-line crushed the Shower Curtain for easy touchdowns. You cant fix no talent . Heyward cant do it all . Harrison was on the bench , Tuitt is underachieving . Hargrave and Mcullers suck donkey balls.
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 5:52 am]: Soak it in .. 5 plays , 72 yards , 42 seconds …. Touchdown . Fire BUTLER
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 5:52 am]: Big Ben calls out the D … let the implosion continue
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 6:10 am]: I’m thinking #92 would have stopped the last play #95 had his back to . Sure they would have kicked the field goal for the W … just saying
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 6:25 am]: Like the parting of the Red Sea
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 7:27 am]: Earl I have listed in this post all the reasons you are wrong. (1)
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 7:36 am]: Biggest mistake, as Ben pointed out, was scoring too early. I said it the second they scored. 42 seconds and 3 TOs is like having 4 minutes and against our D that’s an eternity.
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 7:38 am]: Ah ha! I got it, you were wrong Earl. It only took them 33 seconds to score not 42. >:-D
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:38 am]: 31 other teams would have found a way to stop Dallas. We even stopped them on the first play of the drive. We are poorly coached. Poorly coached in practice AND gameday. The screen pass for 83 yards was all you needed to see. Game over.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:38 am]: I disagree with the talent.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:39 am]: I watch other teams with much less talent play way better on defense.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:41 am]: It’s bad when coaching keeps winding up on the Loser side of Winners and Losers…
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 7:42 am]: Butler has been a question mark since he took over.
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 7:42 am]: So you are on board with fire Butler? He sucks too
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:42 am]: Question mark? Failure!!!!!
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:43 am]: He’s guessing out there…
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 7:43 am]: Dallas has better players on both sides of the ball and better coaching
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 7:43 am]: Tomlin is overrated as hell
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:43 am]: This team needs a clean sweep of coaches. The one guy I’d keep is retiring.
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 7:43 am]: I don’t think Butler has any answers or even if he knows what the questions are. He’s in over his head IMO.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:44 am]: I know I like Coates more than others here, but what did he see, one play? He was wide open and the Dallas CB had to grab him twice…no call of course…
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:44 am]: So basically our offense was handicapped with Hamilton all day. Yes, he made one nice catch and was interfered with, but how do you leave someone like Coates on the bench.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:45 am]: Then you play Jarvis on the critical drive…
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:45 am]: Just when you needed a pass rush, you sit Harrison.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:46 am]: I just don’t think ANY of our coaches are good…clean sweep.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:46 am]: Tomlin has now had a 5 game losing streak and 2 4 game losing streaks in 10 seasons…that’s bad…
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:47 am]: I really am hoping we lose to Cleveland.
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 7:47 am]: MT left 4 points on the field and those points could have made all the difference. If the Cryboys needed a TD instead of a FG … wait … I forgot who they were playing. They would have still gotten the TD against this D.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:48 am]: I actually don’t have an issue with the first one…the game played out that he had to chase the rest. Remember Dallas missed 2 2 pointers.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:48 am]: My issue is why can’t OUR kicker hit a 50+ FG when needed…
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:48 am]: Then kicks it out of bounds…
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:49 am]: It’s all these little things that add up…
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:49 am]: It is like sand lot football. I am not sure why we even have coaches…
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 7:49 am]: I do not and never have like going for 2 early. Just me.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:49 am]: The offense moved once they started to let Ben call the plays.
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 7:50 am]: Agree!
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:50 am]: How about can you dial up a 2 point play that would work????
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:50 am]: The fade to Green????
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:50 am]: A inward route to AB???
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:51 am]: Fucking Touissant on the 2 point conversion????
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:51 am]: Why is he on the field and he knocked the ball away from Jesse James…
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:52 am]: I have an issue with the calls, not so much going for it. They were all BAD calls…
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 7:53 am]: I would just rather take the point.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:53 am]: I said this after 2006. I wanted Tomlin because it represented a cleaning house. We need to do that again. Look what happened, 2008 SB and 2010 went to the SB. We need to clean house.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:55 am]: But going for 2 was the least of the problems. I say that because you can’t say “Oh, we would have had those points.” Everything would have been different. Dallas would not have gone for 2. At the end, when we had the ball maybe it would have been by 3 and we don’t go for the TD…so you can’t look back it would change everything.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:57 am]: As a matter of fact if you look at it it would have been 30-27 when we were driving. Probably settle for a FG…lol
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 7:58 am]: My issue is how do you give up an 83 yard screen untouched…
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 8:00 am]: I wasn’t talking so much about yesterday as much as in general. I juts prefer the easier (not guaranteed) road early in games. Not making them gives the other team momentum back after you just scored.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 8:04 am]: Yeah, at 12-3 Tomlin should have kicked the extra point.
M Walsh [November 14, 2016 – 8:04 am]: But all 4 2pt conversion calls sucked..
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 8:11 am]: I’m trying to come up with an argument but it may take a while. In the mean time I have to run a couple errands. Back shortly.
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 8:26 am]: After the first attempt at going for two failed , he should have kicked the extra points the rest of the way. He was chasing his mistake
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 8:38 am]: We can dissect this all we want . As several have written, this team is just not very good . They are poorly coached and mentally week. They fold in the face of adversity . My expectations just went to zero so its all gravy the rest of the way. I’ve embraced that they suck and will only win 3 or 4 more games.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 9:56 am]: there is one good thing. when i watch college i will be able to think more aggressively on who we can draft as our record slides..
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 9:59 am]: if tomlin, haley and butler are the 3 stooges i’d have to make butler curly, tomlin is moe and haley is larry
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 10:06 am]: Perfect analogy. I pretty much gave up on the season after the debacle in Ratland. I predicted 8-8 after that game and now I starting to think even that is optimistic. I can’t remember a time in my Steelers life that I have been this down on the team. Maybe I should find a dr that will write me a Rx for weed. Short term memory loss sounds pretty good right now. >:-D
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 10:30 am]: yeah i completely divorced myself emotionally after the raven loss. took my diamond necklace off that i did back in 98 offseason(my wife replaced my gold one my dad gave me in 1988 and i wore that every day of my life) when they kept letting FAs go culminating in carnell lake. to the rooneys credit they said when they get a new stadium that would change and it did. i can take and even enjoy watching my steelers go 7-9, 8-8 or 6-10 as long as i feel like its a team i can like (not arrogant, cocky, etc) and plays to their talent level consistently whatever that may be. heck i had to live through the 80s. this season kinda reminds me of 91 (nolls last year) when we had expectations and went 6-10 i think. i remember loving the fact we played dallas on thanksgiving. by the time that rolled around we were playing for draft picks. imagine we have to watch them on thanksgiving, xmas and new years!
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 10:31 am]: and colbert doesnt escape criticism either. we still have no dline depth. heyward and tuitt literally play 99% of the snaps and heyward played injured yesterday. imagine fucking cam thomas played out his 3 year deal here. did he hook on w anyone?
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 10:44 am]: i almost fell off my chair a few weeks ago when jjones had his best game (not saying much doesnt come close to clark haggans average game) and heard him compared to a “young silverback” on here. that shows how starved we are for ANY playmaking on defense. god what an awful first round pick and really set us back.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 10:46 am]: ok it equaled haggans’ avg. game
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 11:25 am]: ”i almost fell off my chair a few weeks ago when jjones had his best game (not saying much doesnt come close to clark haggans average game) and heard him compared to a “young silverback” on here.” – Wait. What?
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 11:27 am]: OK, I don’t want to be too harsh. Look, I think Jarvis Jones would make a fine OLB,…. someplace that plays a 4-3. He will never be the pass rusher / run stopper/ coverage linebacker that Pittsburgh needs it’s OLBs to be. Two out of three can make a good pro, just not a good OLB in a 3-4.
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 11:30 am]: Thank God I missed that comparison. A “young silverback”!? What kind of drug induced stupor would cause someone to say something that idiotic. Hopefully they included the customary “lol” at the end of that statement.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 11:36 am]: no it was serious and reactionary because he actually made 2 plays in one game behind the LOS (not a sack of course). totally true
copanut [November 14, 2016 – 11:36 am]: Is it talent? Is it Butler? Is it line coaching? LB coaching? Joey Porter? All of the above? The ones who are talented can’t stay healthy. The ones who are healthy don’t have enough talent. Coaching is not getting the most out of the material. The sack leader among LBs is Chickillo for fuck’s sake, followed by Vince Williams, two guys who ought to be backups (I like them, but let’s be real). Next up is Harrison, THE OLDEST DEFENDER IN THE NFL. Next is Arthur Moats, another should-be backup. The starting-caliber linebackers (Timmons, Shazier, Jones) have ONE SACK COMBINED through 9 games. I know it’s not all about sacks, but my god something is seriously wrong in this picture and it does not appear to be getting better.
copanut [November 14, 2016 – 11:38 am]: I’d look at trying to trade some excess WR talent to a team that has some excess LB talent, ‘
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 11:38 am]: a fine OLB in a 4-3. while i admit his “skills” are more conducive to a 4-3 not sure how good the entire defense would be if he was more than your avged paid player i.e. u were able to spend money on better players around him . he is an avg LB imo in a 4-3
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 11:38 am]: Just admit it, Ricky. It was you wasn’t it? Now that you realize how silly that statement was, you’rte trying to pretend that it wasn’t. Must have had too much moonshine while watching NASCAR one day and,.. presto; silly Jarvis remark.
copanut [November 14, 2016 – 11:39 am]: Jones DOES play like a young Silverback. About age 12.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 11:39 am]: it wasnt ricky . feel bad for calling it out now. not trying to get on anyone and i wanted to write something then but didnt..
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 11:40 am]: @copanut: trade deadline has come and gone. Would have to wait until March.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 11:40 am]: copa they dont even have a legit 2 wr without bryant who is not sure to come back. wheaton is a fa. ab?
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 11:40 am]: @malsor: I know it wasn’t Ricky. Quit ruining my jokes.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 11:41 am]: we dont really have that good of wrs without bryant. that was the falsehood this season. the hope was coates would develop and green would contribute to make up for bryant not being here
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 11:41 am]: lol abenn
copanut [November 14, 2016 – 11:46 am]: I’m sorry, I’m supposed to be the optimistic one, but it’s a bitter pill for a Steeler fan to watch shitty defense. I mean, it’s sad when the team goes ahead by one point with 42 seconds left and you know, you just absolutely know, they are not going to win the game. In the past, those were the situations where you knew the Steel Curtain would clamp down, or Troy would come out of nowhere to strip sack the QB, or one of the legion of great LBs would swarm and snuff the opponent.
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 11:48 am]: Quick overview: based on what I was told before the Ravens game, Wheaton has fallen to the bottom of the depth chart, below Cobi and Rogers. And based on yesterday, Coates is also on someone’s shit list. He played 2 snaps and did get one target on one of them. Cobi Hamilton? 68 of 74 total snaps, more than any WR not named Antonio Brown. Also only one target, but Hamilton caught his.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 11:50 am]: http://www.tmz.com/2016/11/14/snoop-steelers-polamalu-defense/ in searching for the good things of this collapse like higher draft picks there is the hope that snoop turns to one of his other teams like the raiders. this one is for u abenn
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 11:52 am]: Everyone thinks the key to this defense getting right is the pass rush. It isn’t. It was easy for the Steelers to rush the passer 10 years ago because it was simple to predict what the other team was going to do. No one tried to run the ball vs Pittsburgh because it was futile. When you know the other team is throwing it, rushing the passer is much simpler. The first thing these yayhoos need to do is fix the run defense. Until then the opposing offense will dictate the game to us.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 11:53 am]: coates cant run routes or finish them and cant be trusted to catch. other than that he’s done well. of course it didnt help that with a lacerated and broken finger(s)/hand he was having to play gunner which is quite unbelievable considering we have no 2 wr and the fact that its basically the equivalent of a tackling dummy type of skill required (u get molested by 2 guys going down the field and you have to use your hands to fight them off) . although it shouldnt be surprising given that this is the coach that kept playing a. blake w one hand over every other cb for 2 months of the season last year
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 11:54 am]: Snoop is a fucking dipshit. I really have no patience for his stupid analysis and idiotic suggestions today.
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 11:55 am]: That drop by Eli Rogers (call that was reversed) was huge. He has got to make that play. Has to.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 11:57 am]: lol. man u guys should have emotionally checked out last week. makes things much easier. cant believe we are 8.5 point favs. really thought we would win yesterday and was so looking forward to the complete letdown in cleve. this week will be interesting to say the least. cant believe this team is 8.5 points fav on the road regardless of how badly we need a game..
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 12:01 pm]: i hope everyone knows that dallas entered the game without morris claiborne (top cb). and they lost orlando scandrick and barry church during it. they had a depleted secondary and imo that helped out our passing game in the 2nd half. bell has had no holes at all this year (first half he did for the first time since the garbage time of the kc game but dallas then shut that down. oline is a joke as well
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 12:02 pm]: the point of my dallas secondary post is that our wrs core is 1 person w/o bryant who i have said all along was more important than bell and considering the events of the playoffs last year u could make a legit argument for ab
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 12:02 pm]: Given Ben’s inconsistency this season, I’m not sure he should be calling out his team and coaches for accountability and discipline. I think that was really fucking childish. I have no issue with him standing up in a meeting and saying what he said. Saying it to the press three times after a game, to make sure they know he really means it, is complete bullshit.
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 12:03 pm]: Church was inactive. Broken arm.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 12:06 pm]: ok even worse. they were also missing somebody else i think
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 12:07 pm]: Besides, Ben can’t have it both ways. A few weeks ago he was making the case that Tomlin was too hard on the team and ran too many physical practices. This week he’s effectively saying that the coaching staff is too lax. Make up your mind, Ben.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 12:09 pm]: i have to say it is kinda nice to see these fucks humbled after all the shit about 30 points a game, best wrs, best rb, best oline, HOF qb, best triplets since dallas, u have dwill tweeting see u in jan to NE after a beatdown, all the crap from tomlin, haley, ben, ab, all of them!
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 12:12 pm]: Well, they did in fact score 30 points. It was just too much to expect our defense from keeping a team with a whole 42 seconds from s driving 71 yards and scoring a TD.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 12:13 pm]: not talking about yesterday. said it many times before esp after every sunday road game sans sea last year
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 12:14 pm]: Just checked. The only injuries that put players out were to their backup TE and Steven Johnson, who may get cut when Dupree comes back anyway.
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 12:15 pm]: My point was that the offense, and Ben in particular, do not feel humbled. They feel like pointing fingers at the defense.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 12:15 pm]: even some of those games against sub 500 road team that were wins were horrid. we should have lost to jville if not for a brice mccain pick 6 (no offensive td that game)
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 12:15 pm]: true
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 12:16 pm]: ben hasnt showed up on the road for 3 years now except for an outlier here and there
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 12:16 pm]: 4 penalties for 40 yards is a lot better than last week. The run defense, unfortunately sucks balls.
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 12:18 pm]: Wheaton going to see a shoulder specialist today. Hopes it isn’t season ending.
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 12:23 pm]: I am surprised at the amount of shade being thrown at Artie Burns today. It’s as if people don’t actually watch the games. It’s not Burn’s fault, Lake’s fault, Butler’s fault or Tomlin’s fault that the refs swallow their whistles.
Bryant pushed off on every single route he ran. Besides Burns isn’t the guy who allowed massive holes between the tackles.
Elliot averaged 3.9 yards per carry BEFORE CONTACT.
What a fucking joke.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 12:24 pm]: wow burns has been a bright spot this year imo
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 12:25 pm]: If you’re going to run a 3-4, a NT who has to be doubled on every snap is essential. We don’t have that in Hargrave or McCullers.
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 12:29 pm]: I don’t think Shazier is that undersized, as some do. He’s a little light. But he’s not a safety. As I understand it, he showed up to camp at 241 and is playing somewhere between 233 and 235. It being hard for him to maintain weight if he isn’t lifting 5 days a week. I do wish that he was heavier up top, but he carries plenty in his legs which accounts for his quickness.
Anyway, back the point, a guy like Shazier, who bases his game on his quickness and not shear force, needs to be covered up (needs guys in front of him taking up blockers) to make plays along the line of scrimmage. Having a NT who can be beaten with a single blocker lends itself to 320 pound guards coming off the line to block Ryan one on one, and that is a mismatch.
Did you guys notice what happened when they put 91 & 97 on the center yesterday and rushed 5 at Dak?
The center got his ass kicked a half dozen times. Same center pushed McCullers straight back and Hargrave down the line by himself.
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 12:30 pm]: The whole premise behind Dick LeBeau’s 3-4 was that one of the inside three (NT, Buck & Mack) would always be unblocked, or the NT would make the opposing OC pay for singling him up with an interior O lineman.
What they’ve done under Butler is one gap their NT. It’s not working.
copanut [November 14, 2016 – 12:31 pm]: Agreed, Burns is right where he should be. Also agree that fixing the run defense is of paramount importance. The strength of this front 7 is supposed to be the DL and MLB. We expect the OLB to be weak. As for the offense, they are certainly more than capable of putting up 30. With all the injuries and suspensions they haven’t been fully operative or in sync. If they can stay healthy the rest of the year they’ll be fine. Defense, not so much.
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 12:32 pm]: I had really high hopes for him, but Dan McCullers is worthless.
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 12:39 pm]: I think the Steelers have drafted defensive players with a change in scheme in mind for the past few years. I just wish they would hurry the fuck up and get on with it, or get back to what actually works in the scheme they are in now. Heyward said last night that every big play was given up when they “had the right call”, that they “just didn’t execute”.
endaround [November 14, 2016 – 2:21 pm]: Awwwww there’s that word Execution …As to the once John Mc Kay about a reporter asking him about the exectuion of his tea,,he said he all for it !!!Even if they were to execute on that play,,from what I saw was The Cowboys line men driving out dmen backwards..The key part of that Cowboys offense is their Line..These guys are huge,,they are big and most of all they can block..Had our offense had a run game like them,,maybe the end would have been different..57 yards by Bell ..We got into a one dimensional game plan and had to stick with that..But the offense is not what beat us..The defense had better get their shit together and soon..Ajaya,Blount,Elliot scorched this defense ..The Miami game was 4 weeks ago and still nothing has been fixed
Tuskegee_Brown [November 14, 2016 – 2:33 pm]: Late to the convo but you are spot on about Ben’s comments. “I don’t know. Is it players? Is it coaches? I don’t know”. For a second I thought he was going to say. “Is it the fans, Is it the SuperMoon?”. I have an ideal BR, if you dont know the cause the first place any player or coach should look is in the mirror. But Ben’s statements are just a buck shot to the whole organization wothout offering up any solutions.
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 2:36 pm]: I am far calmer than last night when I was absolutely livid. I’ve decided that as inconsistent as Ben has been this season (4 good games and 4 subpar or very poor games) he is in no position to call anyone out for not being accountable.
Further, a few weeks back he was bitching about too many physical practices. Now he’s effectively said the coaches are too lax.
Yeah, make up your mind Ben. Just sounds to me like you’re making excuses. Because you played well this week, it does not give you the right to throw everyone else under the bus.
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 2:48 pm]: endaround I’m not sure there is a “fix” for the D. They are what they are and they ARE not very good. There might be 2 players on this D that could have started in 08. I won’t bring up the chicken salad recipe.
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 3:02 pm]: “Just admit it, Ricky. It was you wasn’t it?” That must have been before I quit smoking crack. There’s not enough moonshine on the planet to make me say something that silly.
Tuskegee_Brown [November 14, 2016 – 3:03 pm]: SF, for me I only see one and that’s Shazier over Foote, and thats by a slim margain.
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 3:05 pm]: BTW until yesterday NASCAR has been much more watchable that Steelers football. Yesterday’s game was a good game but then it ended with a kick in the crotch. The race was exciting tho >:-D
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 3:06 pm]: Maybe Heyward for Diesel.
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 3:07 pm]: Kiesel did have Big Snack and Aaron Smith on the line with him.
steelerfan58 [November 14, 2016 – 3:23 pm]: Time to go to class. Later ballers.
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 3:30 pm]: Tuitt could also have beaten out Keisel. Not Smith though.
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 3:35 pm]: Bell got his yards. Aside from the 17 for 56 yards rushing, Bell also caught 8 passes that were thrown no further than 2 yards past the line of scrimmage. Most were thrown behind it. He collected 75 yards on those. He also caught a 2 yard TD pass, although that was from the slot, not at RB.
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 4:40 pm]: Lots of pissed off fans. Who would have thunk they would lose 4 straight and Trump would get elected Pres?
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 4:41 pm]: I didn’t realize that Coates only play 2 offensive snaps. He must be in the doghouse too.
JMS55 [November 14, 2016 – 5:03 pm]: Coates is hurt with those fingers. Can’t catch balls with fingers taped together.
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 5:08 pm]: I dont think thats it. More to it than fingers
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 5:09 pm]: Wideouts have busted fingers all the time . He’s no different .
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 5:10 pm]: Coates proclaimed the hand is fine .. no issues
JMS55 [November 14, 2016 – 5:11 pm]: The WR’s are dessimated. If he could play he would’ve. Damn Bryant and his suspension. We need somebody to stretch the defense so lay off Brown. Its more about the defense though. Defense is bad. Don’t know about Butler at this point.
JMS55 [November 14, 2016 – 5:13 pm]: Don’t believe Coates
JMS55 [November 14, 2016 – 5:14 pm]: Thinking Ben lost confidence in him might be more like it
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 5:50 pm]: I don’t know if you guys saw this, but when Trump was in Western PA on his last campaign stop in Pennsylvania, he twirled a Terrible Towel. The Steelers haven’t won a game since. Coincidence or Curse?
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 5:50 pm]: :o) >:-D 😀
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 5:52 pm]: By the way, I didn’t make that story up.
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 7:10 pm]: aside from drops he wont finish his routes at the top (coates). other than running a go route he’s untrustworthy in his route tree
malsor [November 14, 2016 – 7:10 pm]: here is a stat for the ages: elliot averaged 3.5 yards a carry BEFORE HE WAS EVER TOUCHED!
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 7:12 pm]: Jeri – you are wrong about Coates . He’s not hurt
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 7:13 pm]: This team lacks a leader . Its obvious
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 7:14 pm]: That Tyler eifert is pretty damn good
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 7:39 pm]: I dont think he just be fired .. just food for thought http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2016/11/14/mike-tomlin-steelers-mccarthy-packers/93818912/
Earl [November 14, 2016 – 7:40 pm]: I dont think Tomlin should be fired – yet
abennihana [November 14, 2016 – 8:01 pm]: Ben was the one who asked Haley not to play Coates in the second half on Sunday because he slowed down on the route that Ben overthrew him on. Coates is hurt-ish, but everyone is dinged up a little. Ben challenged the WRs all week and during the game. That, in and of itself, is a good thing. Going to the media with complaints is not.
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 6:25 am]: At least the Bengals lost
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 6:29 am]: I haven’t seen a comment on this but AB ran out of bounds for no good reason twice Sunday . The great punt return he gave up on . Then at the end of the game why would you fucking run out of bounds rather than cut back and try to lateral ? AB is part of the problem with this team.
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 6:30 am]: Coates needs to make up his mind. His post game statement contradicted all the pregame reports
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 6:31 am]: Have you guys seen this asshole ? http://www.steelersdepot.com/2016/11/watch-steelers-fan-loses-sundays-loss-cowboys/
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 7:27 am]: This team is like Santa Clause . We really want to believe they are real and then find out its all been a scam. Fantasy , a fairy tale if you will . Super Bowl my ass. Tomlin is the grinch that stole Christmas
M Walsh [November 15, 2016 – 7:45 am]: I don’t buy that. The only reason Coates came in is because it looked like Hamilton was winded. Slowed down the route? He was grabbed twice…
M Walsh [November 15, 2016 – 7:45 am]: Tomlin has lost this team. Go Cleveland!
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 8:14 am]: he didnt slow down his go route its every other route that he has done that on consistently throughout the season. i have noticed it sitting it on my couch and have been saying it since preseason . and his drops have been obvious. team is not the same w/o bryant
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 8:14 am]: just read heyward might need surgery on his pec. 6-10 is a possibility now
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 8:28 am]: He was interfered with but clearly did not run through it . Put a fucking bow on the season if Heyward is out . Those assholes did nothing to find a quality backup DL . Matthews … laughable
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 8:28 am]: Problem is Bryant cant play . Coates has to step up
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 8:46 am]: earl that is the funniest fucking thing i have ever seen. made me think of some of my past explosions. worst was the 89 playoff loss to denver. i threw all my parents pool furniture in the pool. heavy iron that had to sit at the bottom until january. first time i ever put a hole in the wall was 93 brown eric metcalf 2 punt return game in the regular season. then it was all punches in the wall. i did break a flat screen in the 05 season when they lost on a monday night at indy and then they went on to win the sb.. so glad i dont do that anymore. fing hysterical. sending it to all my family and friends..
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 8:51 am]: sorry but i think everyone should get on the 6-10 bandwagon. no way this team is winning a sb. we need to be drafting near the top of every round. edge rusher (2), LT, safety (mitchell needs to go), wr. i look forward to next year w dupree for sure. golson hopefully, NEED bryant! green hopefully is healthy altho he looked about as explosive as me on sunday. yeah he caught 3 balls w defenders draped all over him. got 0 separation and looked injured to me
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 8:51 am]: 8;46 post: “had to sit at the bottom until summer”
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 8:54 am]: this team now loses heyward for ricardo matthews. and then when he rotates out its walton so that should put the nail in the coffin for any expectations..cant believe have to watch this crap on thanksgiving, xmas, and new years
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 8:55 am]: We dont even know if Golson is any good. He might suck like their other picks. History says he does
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 8:57 am]: Right on Snoop
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 9:00 am]: no we dont know about golson, thats a luxury at this point. still part of the 2017 story. this team was set back from the beginning w bryant , dupree and green not even suiting up before any contact. then the usual injuries took place. just pointing out that people need to realize this season is done (if a sb win is your goal)
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 9:04 am]: said it all along that bryant was the real reason this offense was special. at least they had an identity then. now there is no identity w/o him. the offense isnt special w/o him. look at what they did in denver w no ab, and touusaint at rb, who put up the best stats and only td against cincy, look at the numbers w, w/o bryant since he came into the lineup. another ridiculous notion that the coaching staff doesnt understand when going for the 2s (its not the same offense) and separately once u missed the first u have to kick the xtra points after not keep chasing them. but their own coaches dont realize that its not the same offense w/o bryant
steelerfan58 [November 15, 2016 – 9:18 am]: “Tuitt could also have beaten out Keisel. Not Smith though.” Agree but I didn’t list him as a starter in 08 because of his position not his skill level. If football people voted for the HoF A Smith would be in. Unfortunately writers from other cities that see the Steelers once or twice a year or some every 4 years, do the voting.
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 9:20 am]: smith imo is the the best 3-4 end ive ever seen and yes if only experts of the game voted he’d be in the HOF
steelerfan58 [November 15, 2016 – 9:21 am]: The man was a brute with technique.
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 9:32 am]: Cam getting an opinion from a specialist. Pec tear.
Sounds like he’s in a lot of pain.
Best case scenario, he’s gonna be out a while.
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 10:43 am]: report on espn 17m ago that “sammie coates has second broken finger, index, same hand and hand is a mess”.. jeremie fowler
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 11:01 am]: Yeah. That confused me. The finger he broke in the first place was his index finger. That said, I’ll never forget seeing Vance Johnson’s hands (WR for Broncos, played with Elway). He had several fingers that were bent from being broken or dislocated. It looked pretty gruesome. The point is, I don’t think that fingers being broken is all that uncommon.
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 11:18 am]: true, ive seen torry holt’s fingers and several guys that played w farve. same thing
M Walsh [November 15, 2016 – 11:18 am]: In 3 out of 10 seasons Tomlin has a 5 game losing streak and 2 4 game losing streaks. All with an at least average team. Sorry, they should have made the change before the change was necessary. Colbert and Tomlin need to go. This is a team in disarray…
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 11:27 am]: Most players have busted / broken fingers. Its the nature of the game .
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 11:28 am]: @Walsh – Tomlin has about as much chance of getting fired as Trump being elected President
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 11:28 am]: Oh wait .. shit does happen
M Walsh [November 15, 2016 – 11:35 am]: When we drove out to training camp I had a pretty good idea Trump had a shot…the lawn signs, never underestimate the lawn signs.
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 11:52 am]: Cam has a torn pec and is done for the year.
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 11:53 am]: The 2016 season is fucking cursed.
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 12:01 pm]: That sucks for him and for the Steelers. He must have been hurt the whole game because he was not good
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 12:01 pm]: Ben should just take a seat and save himself for next year
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 12:04 pm]: He is a class act ” My hand will remain in the pile no matter what”
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 12:05 pm]: can everyone come around to 6-10 now? i get to look at edge rushers that can go around the number 10 overall pick. worst thing that can happen is 8-8 or 9-7 one and done..i swear every time we play on thanksgiving the season is a fucking disaster. ravens in 13?, this year, 98, 91 and then i remember a 45-3 lions game in the early 80s that i still havent recovered from.. all horrendous seasons. off the top of my head
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 12:06 pm]: Looks like you can spend Sundays wearing off the fuzz on your balls instead of watching shit TV
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 12:06 pm]: Tennis Balls
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 12:14 pm]: @malsor: weren’t you the guy who was saying this was a Super Bowl season in August/September?
M Walsh [November 15, 2016 – 12:26 pm]: And that’s all folks!
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 12:32 pm]: We’ve known all along this team was below the line . 4-1 start was smoke and mirrors. You cant fix lack of depth and lack of talent
endaround [November 15, 2016 – 12:48 pm]: Well fellow Ballers,,,,,,,,,,we have 7 games left in this season…will they win the division and make a playoff spot or implode and end up 7-9 or even 6-10 ???
endaround [November 15, 2016 – 12:50 pm]: playoff and we still have Tomlin ,,but once again the Rooneys will tell him to dump said coaches and start over..losing season,,goodbye to everyone !!!just my opinion ..and we all know what opinions are like
endaround [November 15, 2016 – 12:52 pm]: Such a waste of an offense that could have been ,,however a defense that never was !!!!
endaround [November 15, 2016 – 12:54 pm]: we are so used to a defense that plays balls to the walls and not like hanging their balls on a wall…Yes Mike Tomlin you were the undoing of this once proud team !!!!
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 12:57 pm]: @Earl: I knew all along it wasn’t a Super Bowl team. But, I never thought it was all smoke and mirrors. Not with an offense like that one. They just cannot stay healthy and with a D that cannot be counted on, they have to now be careful who gets the last possession each week. Offensively, they can still outscore a lot of teams. Defensively, can they stop anyone? Bueller?
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:01 pm]: @abenn? that was before bryant was lost. look at my prediction
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 1:04 pm]: “If they don’t sign me big, I know someone will,” raps Bell on his latest release.
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:07 pm]: i predicted 10-6 losing at afc championship. “w/o bryant, dupree, green and golson without even real contact to come and for sure more injuries”. in light of the additional injuries (heyward, coates, green, oline depth depleted) how is it anybody’s fault if they realize the season isnt going to end in a super bowl and adjust goals accordingly. my disdain for the coaches is another issue from what i have seen this season in light of the past as well..
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 1:07 pm]: He’s correct.
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 1:08 pm]: Well I just had it out with a Cryboy Fan . I was totally prepared to give his team credit for how they played and he starts on how Big Ben is overrated , all the Steelers do is talk , blah blah blah . I proceeded to take the low road and explain the joys of fucking his mom and how he could go fuck himself
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 1:09 pm]: A Cryboy fan wont let you take the High Road .. Assholes
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 1:12 pm]: C’mon Earl, after 19 years of perfect mediocrity, Dallas fans will be the gloating, deluded assholes they are even when they are losing. You could have simply pointed out the obvious. Some fans know how to handle success. Those of us who do are accustomed to it. Those of us who are not, act like children because we’re not.
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 1:15 pm]: You are right about that . I’ll use that on the next asshole I encounter
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:17 pm]: this is the hardest steeler team to like that i can remember
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 1:21 pm]: 2006? 2009?
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:21 pm]: talking about the players on the team not the result
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:22 pm]: not too mention the coaches
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 1:22 pm]: For me 2012 & 2013 were the recent lows.
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 1:23 pm]: We were enamored with the offense and the thought the D would be good enough. They just aren’t very good.
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:24 pm]: bell is an abomination as a rapper. not that i am suge knight in judging it as i come from the nwa, ll cool j of liking that stuff
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 1:25 pm]: I have no idea how good he is or isn’t and never will.
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 1:29 pm]: Yeah he sucks Malsor . He better keep his day job
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 1:29 pm]: So what did you guys think of Tomlins presser?
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 1:29 pm]: This season reminds me of 2009. We came in with high expectations and the injury bug started with Aaron Smith and worked it’s way around to everyone. Fucking Jimmy Fallon cursed us that year with his Madden Curse questions right about the time we were starting to get healthy.
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 1:31 pm]: @Earl: I thought it was filled with bad news on injury and superlatives about the Browns. About like most weeks this past month.
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:32 pm]: i do agree it is cursed or as say the football gods are against us. seems like its been that way for a while. of course bryant was self inflicted altho the way i understand it 2/3 of the league smoke and the only way u fail is if your are an idiot
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:32 pm]: “as i say”
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:33 pm]: speaking of bell he hasnt impressed me as a pure rb this year. yes the oline sucks but even when the holes are wide he stops and starts so much he never breaks one because he gets caught from behind. throw in his receiving skills tho and the conversation changes
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 1:35 pm]: i understand it 2/3 of the league smoke and the only way u fail is if your are an idiot – Or… you screw up and end up in the substance abuse program before you sign your contract, like Bryant did.
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 1:35 pm]: Bell has impressed the shit out of me at RB. Doubly so when someone else comes in and gets a carry.
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:35 pm]: put it this way the only guys that i would be crushed to not see next year are ben, bryant, dupree, heyward, shazier. u can have bell and ab
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:36 pm]: when i say bell and ab i am including all the other stuff they bring with them off the field and the money u will have to pay
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 1:37 pm]: The offense goes through Bell. Without him, they are not nearly as good. The only thing I question is how long he can stay both unsuspended and healthy. Availability has to be a consideration in his contract.
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:37 pm]: yeah i’ll put up w bryant possibly failing because to me he is the difference maker and he’s cheap as hell
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 1:37 pm]: I think you and I are on the same page
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:37 pm]: they looked pretty good w fitz toussiant at rb in the playoffs and w/o bell and w bryant
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:38 pm]: thankgod i never got an ab jersey
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 1:39 pm]: Fitz? Seriously? I thought he was a huge dropoff and I’m not just talking about the fumble, although after it he has been worse.
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:43 pm]: just pointing out what happened in the post season. comparing if we had to lose anyone of the 3
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 1:46 pm]: nobody had the success we had against that denver d and it had no ab, no bell no dwill, it had bryant who had over 150 yards from scrimmage , should have been PI on talib in EZ too and if not for a fitz fumble we win
Earl [November 15, 2016 – 2:38 pm]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f99J7HwkYMI
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 3:01 pm]: If you need a laugh, this is hysterical. I think she may have indulged in too much medical marijuana. Then again, there is a possibility that she is just a complete idiot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScgFIKXKFkc
abennihana [November 15, 2016 – 3:49 pm]: This. Ben Anderson @BenAnderson58
If you’re a #Steelers fan who hopes they lose to the #Browns so that you can prove some point, please turn in your Terrible Towels & go.
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 5:16 pm]: imo the rest of the season scores’ are irrelevant. what we need are for some real leaders to emerge. i knew ab was done the minute he hired drew rosehenhaus. bell is more concerned w. his rap career. we need some players to emerge from an adverse season so the team can be more mature and mentally tough next season when again i will hope injuries and suspensions dont kill us
malsor [November 15, 2016 – 5:20 pm]: i say this as a born los anglean (is that a word?) why am i not surprised that woman was from california.. i like that somebody clapped
kingribel [November 15, 2016 – 6:40 pm]: I was at the game, watching it now on tv. Coates was obviously interfered with end 2nd quarter and Dez blatantly pushed off Gay and Gay got called for PI
endaround [November 15, 2016 – 8:09 pm]: Seahawks waived Christine Michaels..Colbert should go after this kid…….
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 6:22 am]: So AB basically calls Tomlin a liar .. I think we know the real problem . The players dont like this coach and are laying down on the job. You cant work for a boss you dont respect
endaround [November 16, 2016 – 6:55 am]: fingers are starting to point ..not looking good in da burgh…
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 6:58 am]: Yep – Tomlin throws shade over James Harrison about being the best pass rusher .. Says “We’ll see”
endaround [November 16, 2016 – 7:02 am]: JH should have been on the field on that last drive ..at least he does have a pass rush..just might have gotten to their qb for a sack,,will never know ..
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 7:03 am]: He wouldnt have got pushed around by a TE for sure
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 7:04 am]: There is way too much talking and not enough playing. You dont hear shit like that from winning teams. This is a WHINING team
endaround [November 16, 2016 – 7:05 am]: And Jones,,I have to believe this guy is playing his way off this team..if so,,let him go and get a number 3 comp for him…
steelerfan58 [November 16, 2016 – 7:07 am]: I’ve just got to the point that when people ask me what’s wrong with the Steelers (and a lot of assholes do), I just say we aren’t that good. I hate to say that but I’ve found I avoid more BS and HBP if I do it that way.
endaround [November 16, 2016 – 7:11 am]: yea,,,,,,,,i get the same stuff with my bowler buddies…unfortunately they are mostly eagle fans…
endaround [November 16, 2016 – 7:12 am]: then when the teams wins,,you don’t hear chit from them…
steelerfan58 [November 16, 2016 – 7:14 am]: That said, no offense to some but I still want to make the playoffs and considering the strength and standings in our division we are far from out of it. Fuck draft status. I hate to lose.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 7:53 am]: I root for them to win…just won
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 7:54 am]: ‘t care if they lose…
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 7:58 am]: Do you guys think there is an anti Tomlin sentiment on the team? Am I just searching for reasons?
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 8:01 am]: Maybe not, he is a players coach. I just don’t think they listen to him.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 8:01 am]: You want a coach you would run threw a wall for…
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 8:02 am]: I think Cowher is his early days was that coach…
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 8:02 am]: Maybe Tomlin was…he is not now.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 8:03 am]: Look at Belichick. Star player did something wrong…he’s gone.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 8:04 am]: Chickillo and Harrison should have been out there for that last drive. That is a failure on the coach.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 8:04 am]: Golden is proving he is a ST player.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 8:04 am]: Burns and Davis are too inexperienced.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 8:05 am]: Justin Gilbert rides the bench like Boykin did…something is wrong there when the coach doesn’t play the GM’s trade.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 8:06 am]: Something stinks in Pittsburgh and it isn’t just the team…
EstimatedProphet [November 16, 2016 – 8:10 am]: maybe the trades aren
EstimatedProphet [November 16, 2016 – 8:11 am]: t any good
EstimatedProphet [November 16, 2016 – 8:11 am]: anyone even heard what Boykin is doing this year?
EstimatedProphet [November 16, 2016 – 8:13 am]: I’m not going to say I really believe in MT, but I think we need a new GM
EstimatedProphet [November 16, 2016 – 8:14 am]: lets not forget how good old Godell has changed the game to the point where its all passing and high scores that are important
EstimatedProphet [November 16, 2016 – 8:16 am]: Steelers identity was always tough physical football, what is its identity now, high scoring offense doesn’t suit them well
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 8:18 am]: True on Boykin now, but when Boykin played for us it was an upgrade.
EstimatedProphet [November 16, 2016 – 8:20 am]: still, you ask what is wrong, and I’d say what is right about the Steelers now… all they have are a few offensive stars
EstimatedProphet [November 16, 2016 – 8:22 am]: which just lends itself to a flashy, all about me culture, that mentality starts at the top, with who the bring in, and what kind of team they want to be
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 8:22 am]: I still think man for man the talent is in the top 1/3 of the league.
EstimatedProphet [November 16, 2016 – 8:37 am]: and that is why they will go somewhere around 9-7 and 7-9
EstimatedProphet [November 16, 2016 – 8:38 am]: just having better than average talent lands you in the zone on mediocrity
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 9:01 am]: The Patriots prove that detail in preparation, discipline, execution and accountability trump pure talent. They just don’t beat themselves. Is it coaching? Is it strong team leadership on the field and in the locker room? It’s not an accident that they win the division every year .
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 9:02 am]: They have a system that they stick to . Distractions get sent to Cleveland .
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 9:04 am]: Another thing .. Teams that win ugly all have one thing in common … great special teams play . Can we say that about the Steelers ?
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 9:08 am]: Lets have an honest talk about talent on the defense. How many guys on this team could start for the Bronco’s , Seahawks or Ravens?
EstimatedProphet [November 16, 2016 – 9:08 am]: I think ST rely on quality depth, and the bottom of the Steelers roster is pretty low, another change from the previous coach/GM
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 9:09 am]: All this food for thought and Aben is asleep
EstimatedProphet [November 16, 2016 – 9:10 am]: sure, but what does it matter, nothing much is going to change any time soon
EstimatedProphet [November 16, 2016 – 9:11 am]: likely, the Steelers will go through an era like this, trying to be “fast” and “flashy”
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 9:27 am]: @Earl: I said top 1/3, you just mentioned to 3 defensive teams. Tuitt, Heyward, Shazier, Timmons…I remember the 80’s with NO D players and the D played better. This team has talent, it is just not harnessed properly.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 9:29 am]: The D is full of 1st and 2nd rounders. While some might be considered busts, you cannot deny the talent they had coming in. Someone needed to harness the talent and out them in better position to use that talent. At what point do the coached realize Jarvis can’t rush the passer? Is that on Jarvis or the idiots who keep telling him to rush the passer…
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 9:30 am]: Shazier has speed, but can’t keep to his gap assignments. Hell, why not flip Jarvis and Shazier. Don’t say it won’t work, what they are doing now doesn’t work.
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 9:42 am]: when a HC takes over u expect the unit his backround is in to be a leading unit or at least above average. he was a db coach then defensive co-ordinater before he came to us. enough said..
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 9:44 am]: His time has passed…
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 9:45 am]: Colbert’s time has REALLY passed…
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 9:45 am]: Steelers HC job is a great job. You are telling me we couldn’t find a TOP upcoming talent to fill the position?
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 9:46 am]: Look at this team since 2011…
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 9:48 am]: 37-32 with a franchise QB…that’s not a winning coach.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 9:48 am]: 1-2 in the playoffs with the one victory really a loss…
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 9:50 am]: It’s like the Dolphins floundering in mediocracy at the end of Marino’s career…
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 10:00 am]: http://www.espn.com/blog/pittsburgh-steelers/post/_/id/21291/mike-tomlins-decisions-not-paying-off-during-steelers-four-game-skid
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 10:59 am]: That falls into the no shit category
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 11:25 am]: malsor: ”imo the rest of the season scores’ are irrelevant. what we need are for some real leaders to emerge.” – I believe the scores are very relevant, or should I say the effort is very relevant and that effort will be reflected in the scores. The part about leaders, I am in agreeance with 100%.
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 11:28 am]: abenn: u could see them battle every game and show heart but the final score not reflect how they played
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 11:29 am]: like the miami game, the philly game, the dallas game were all losses but u cant put them in the same category
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 11:29 am]: and bmore was the worst
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 11:36 am]: I thought the effort in the Philly and Miami games was the worst I’ve seen this year. Then Baltimore. Then the defense vs Dallas.
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 11:49 am]: looking at the draft its extremely deep in cbs and safeties. mitchell has to go. there are some edge pass rushers but the 2 sure ones will go in the top 3. read a whole thing on myles garrett. clev will probably take him w the top pick. good kid and great player. can play anywhere on any line
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 11:50 am]: It’s also extremely deep at RB, not so much at TE.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 11:50 am]: The number one pick is still anyone’s to “lose”.
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 11:55 am]: there are edge prospects well into the 3rd round. setting up well for us between the edge and safety positions
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 12:14 pm]: Not the kind of draft we should be discussing this time of year . In the first round I’ll have a Founders Breakfast Stout
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 12:25 pm]: I should preface this statement by saying that I would have liked to see more of Harrison vs the Cowboys. But, Tyron Smith hasn’t given up a sack in two years. Jason Witten has only given up one. There is a reason for that. They are both very good and work together very well. I don’t think Harrison would have had any more success than anyone else. The reason that I wanted Harrison out on the right more often is that I’d like to see them operate vs good running teams with him on the right and Jarvis on the left. Chick sucks vs the run. After watching the tape though, I’m not convinced it would have mattered. They were beating our NTs like younger step brothers and our ILBs couldn’t hold the point of attack vs their center or guards. The defensive front was being folded up and set aside by Dallas, practically at will.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 12:26 pm]: I also don’t see how having anyone different at either OLB spot on the last two drives would have made any difference. The only deep drops Dak made on those drives were to set up screens that worked perfectly because the Steelers were overly aggressive in chasing Prescott.
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 12:28 pm]: Under coach Mike Tomlin, the Steelers are only 8-6 straight-up in road games where they are favored by seven or more points. The rest of the NFL wins those games more than 75 percent of the time. Just something to think about as the Steelers head to Cleveland this week.–espn insider
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 12:33 pm]: i would like to confirm since i havent watched any of the replays of games that haley has a 3 TE package w an empty backfield? (btw these arent Y TEs like gronk that are threats as a wr).. abenn can u confirm this?
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 12:35 pm]: I don’t give a shit about betting stats. Is that wrong? More than that I dislike them because the average fans sees that and believes that the Steelers lose 75% of the time when they are a road favorite.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 12:40 pm]: Malsor, I cannot recall a trips TE set without a RB, aside from when Ben motioned Bell into the slot in the RZ this week. I had no issue with it. We scored on the drive. People also need to consider that Ben has as much input into the way the offense is drawn as anyone. If he likes/dislikes a certain look vs a D, he moves the skill players around until he gets the look he likes. This isn’t like Arians lining up 5 wides with no hot route.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 12:43 pm]: And, not for nothing but, I would say that James, Grimble and Green’s only viable skill as TEs in as a receiving threat, especially in the short passing game because of their height. They certainly don’t put those three next to each other to run block. They suck at it.
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 12:58 pm]: Jarvis Jones got punked on that last TD. He let Elliot run right past him
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 1:06 pm]: @abenn; not betting if u do the math tomlins teams are at a 57% clip v 75% for everyone else
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 1:09 pm]: the stat is as close as u can get to quantifying our history of losing to bad teams on the road. u cant quantify what a bad team is but the point spread is probably a pretty good indicator. my intent of the post had nothing to do with the betting aspect
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 1:13 pm]: Malsor, most fans can’t math.
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 1:19 pm]: good point
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 1:24 pm]: Jarvis was far from the greatest offender on that play, Earl. I’ll post a GIF of it. Timmons, McCullers and Shazier got punked and Sean Davis made some comical whiff at Zeke that was almost as great a sin as the guys in the middle getting beaten like they broke their big brother’s GI Joe. Jarvis was held, just long enough, by a man who is very good at it and strong enough to pull it off without drawing notice to himself.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 1:28 pm]: If the guys in the middle hold the point, this play gets blown up. https://twitter.com/SteelDad/status/798917504277938176
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 1:50 pm]: All I’m saying is that I think James Harrison has a better chance than Jarvis at stopping that. Jarvis Stood straight up and felt the breeze as Elliot ran by
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 1:51 pm]: The D line set that play up for them with that Gap technique .. Zero help from the LB’s
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 1:54 pm]: The threat of Harrison is greater than the threat of Jarvis.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 1:54 pm]: At least we know Jarvis is gone.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 1:56 pm]: 2017: Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, Indianapolis Colts, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, AFC East Same Place Finisher, AFC West Same Place Finisher.
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 1:58 pm]: Playing all those shit teams should terrify us all
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 1:58 pm]: Tuitt held the point and was two gapping. McCullers was NO gapping and while both ILBs guessed right and attacked downhill, at least one has to be covered up to make that play. If they both can’t stack and shed, what the fuck is the point?
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 2:00 pm]: 2-7, 6-3, 5-5, 4-5, 4-5, 2-7, 5-4, 5-4, 5-4, 7-2…45-46 not including our division.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:00 pm]: I disagree with you guys about 2016 Harrison being better than Jarvis vs the run, incidentally. Unfortunatley Father Time has caught up with him. Still one of the team’s best pass rushers though. How pathetic are we?
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 2:00 pm]: Shazier busted his ass . The Cowboys O-line just beat the shit out of their guy to block
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 2:00 pm]: I am talking the pass. The pass set up that last run…
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 2:01 pm]: Next year’s opponents 61-84-2. We are doomed!
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:03 pm]: Shazier got sonned by a backup left guard.
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 2:04 pm]: I think he fell down . I dont think that guy touched him until he hit the ground
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:07 pm]: Yeah. You’re right. He had overrun it a bit and was already falling back when Leary hit him. He may not have been on the ground, but nothing was going to stop his fall.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:09 pm]: It’s really hard for me, as a Steelers fan, to watch defense as bad as this has been for the past 5 years. Even when they have a good day they look a little above average.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:13 pm]: Anyway, while you have to expected some changes to the lineup this week, the only one we’ll see is Harrison having been promoted to starter on the right. It means little. Jarvis will still play and we will still have very little pass rush. I think Tomlin should have made an example of someone and released a player.
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 2:17 pm]: The D only had to be average to beat the Cowboys Sunday . They were far less than that
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:19 pm]: I won’
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:19 pm]: I won’t argue that point, except to say that Dallas’ O line is outstanding. Our front 7 was just bad, Harrison included.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:21 pm]: Forgot to tell you guys, I found out this morning hat Heyward tore his pec on Dallas’ 2nd series and played the rest of the game with it.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:21 pm]: I head heard it was early, but man. That’s like 50 some odd minutes of play with a torn pec.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:22 pm]: *had heard*
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 2:23 pm]: And we thought our O-line was good .. not even on the same planet
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 2:25 pm]: This is just a poorly coached team…
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:27 pm]: Well, Ben has been sacked 14 times in 8 games, Landry 0 sacks. I can recall when we would have been ecstatic about 14 sacks in 9 games.
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 2:28 pm]: True that . Its seems they run blocked better for Williams than they do Bell
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:29 pm]: I’m pretty sure the issues on the defense have more to do with talent, but I’m sure coaching could be improved.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 2:30 pm]: I watch other games with really crappy players and they play better than our D.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 2:31 pm]: Butler is a pure disaster…
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 2:32 pm]: They just don’t seem to have guys that make great plays , ESPN highlights if you will. How many times to we watch a Raven catch a deflected ball . They fall to the ground with the Steeler D
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:33 pm]: The only game I thought they blocked well for DW was WASH. They blocked well for Bell against KC and New England. But Belichick is smart and either spied him on every snap or held a LB back just in case Bell got free.
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 2:33 pm]: Thank God someone else agrees with me. DL is laughing his ass off
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 2:35 pm]: I thought it was time for a change but I was wrong about Butler…wow…
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 2:36 pm]: I would really like them to go out and scout some young talented coaches to take over this team…
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 2:36 pm]: Of course, who is doing the scouting…lol
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:37 pm]: @Earl: I agree with you about the D, but I think it lacks talent in most spots, especially on the front 7. They need another draft that focuses on defense and even with that, they’re a year or two away. May as well play this year out aggressively. Sitting back and playing it safe in an effort to insulate the young DBs is not working.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:37 pm]: I don’t think young coaches are the answer either. Lake and Porter are young. Lake needs to go and Porter hasn’t done much wit the guys he has either.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 2:42 pm]: Dan McCullers is a huge disappointment and Hargarve is not a NT, he is a prototype 3tech. If you’re going to take a 3tech high in the draft, play him at 3tech.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 2:46 pm]: DO you think he can play end for Heyward?
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 2:47 pm]: Lake and Porter are ex players and stars. I was never a fan of having a star player as a coach. Look outside the organization…this team needs a coaching overhaul…top to bottom.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 3:00 pm]: Do I think Hargarve can play DE for Heyward? In a base 3-4, on the under side, yes. Otherwise, he’s a 4-3 DT who shoots one gap on every snap, just like Warren Sapp.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 3:03 pm]: Just thinking who we can replace Heyward with.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 3:05 pm]: Maybe they can convince BJ Raji to end his hiatus from the NFL. He can play all 3-4 line positions.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 3:08 pm]: Here’s the one positive that will come out of this. Hargarve will start getting snaps in the Nickel/Dime/Quarter sets (which are all the same line formation anyway, but…). Up to now, he’s played very little in the sub packages and his ability to penetrate quickly is why they said they drafted him.
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 3:18 pm]: He has been invisible…
M Walsh [November 16, 2016 – 3:19 pm]: If they could get BJ Raji…that would be amazing.
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 6:38 pm]: watching that gif of abenn elliot went through the c gap. who’s responsible for that on that play?
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 6:44 pm]: Well, I don’t know the call and Sean Davis takes a direct line to the backfield at the snap. He may have had outside contain. But an educated guess here is Jarvis and Shazier.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 6:44 pm]: Marc just pointed something out to me about that play. That was Hargrave getting his butt kicked at NT on that play.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 6:49 pm]: If you watch the whole game though, Elliot heads directly for holes before they appear at top speed before they even open. His confidence is that high that they will. For a short run in the 4th quarter, they held Elliot on 5 successive carries to something 2, 0, 2, 0, -6. So 5 carries for 0 yards. Good job, right? Yeah, except his last 2 carries were for 14 and 32 yards and both went for TDs.
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 6:50 pm]: yes hargrove has had a rough go jumping up from D2A
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 6:50 pm]: jjones demoted!!
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 6:50 pm]: I don’t have the spread sheet open, I don’t recall exactly what the carries were in sequence, but for a short spurt they did well.
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 6:50 pm]: that pick killed us
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 6:51 pm]: Jarvis being demoted means little. He’s still going to play a lot.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 6:51 pm]: Pick?
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 6:51 pm]: i know i wish he was cut
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 6:51 pm]: jjones pick
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 6:53 pm]: btw i wrote this on sunday. green looked so pedestrian and he also looked like he hurt himself on the fade route in the EZ. prediction: he’s hurt this week and done for season
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 6:53 pm]: Ahh. Well, could have been worse. There were a slew of edge guys in that draft that underachieved even more. Probably should have gone TE and signed a free agent.
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 6:53 pm]: probably done w the steelers
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 6:54 pm]: yeah i wanted eifert but most of all “anybody but jjones”. eric reid was the next safety taken and ogletree the next lb (inside and we needed both at the time)
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 6:56 pm]: just read injury report and indeed green was limited w a knee
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 6:57 pm]: Saw that. I think Green will finish the year and play next. How effective he’ll be, I cannot say. But, it’s not as if the Steelers have hot and cold running TEs.
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 6:58 pm]: im not bashing as i wanted green more than anybody. just pointing out u can add TE to the list of needs. lets see Olbs, wr, te, LT, S, (all need starters not just depth!) wont even list the depth needed
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 6:58 pm]: thats assuming ab AND bell come back
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 6:58 pm]: Coates having a broken index and ring finger on the same hand screws us. He already had his middle and index taped together.
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 6:59 pm]: football gods killed us. if i am the rooneys i spend whatever i need to to keep bryant sober
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 7:00 pm]: I bashed the shit out of him when he couldn’t play due to headaches. I didn’t think he’d do much at all, if anything. Glad to be wrong. He didn’t look great, but first week with the 1st team O, first game action, 12 snaps total. It’s fine. About what I expected.
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 7:04 pm]: Jarvis admitted the last TD was his fault .. Just as I had reported
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 7:04 pm]: The Steelers n’at
‏@thesteelersnat
11 EDGE rushers taken in the first 3 rounds of the 2013 Draft. Only 2 have more than 10 career sacks (Ziggy Ansah 30, Damontre Moore 10). – Strange but true: Jarvis Jones might not even be one of the 5 most disappointing players from the 2013 Draft. – Dion Jordan, Barkevious Mingo, Dee Milliner, DJ Hayden, EJ Manuel, Datone Jones, Bjeorn Warner are probably all bigger busts than Jarvis.
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 7:06 pm]: That gap was his to protect . he gets there , Zeke has to bounce out and then Davis picks him up. Thats why he is demoted – screwed up
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 7:07 pm]: Great point about that draft Aben
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 7:11 pm]: He has to close a gap on the LT via the TE by pushing him down the line. The LT went all the way into the middle, chasing a falling Shazier. He should have pushed harder. But, that’s not all on him. The hole where Shazier should be is massive and Davis takes a horrible angle.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 7:14 pm]: Prisuta apparently talked to him and likened it to a the way that Harrison may have handled it (has many times before). Harrison crashed down the side on those and the ILBs and DBs cleaned up the mess.
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 7:14 pm]: i get that the edge rushers sucked. they needed in that draft in no particular order :edge, te, s, ilb. the other 3 taken : eifert , reid and ogletree all have 1 pro bowl. btw the next listed “outside linebacker ” to go in the draft was jamie collins taken by the draft in the next round.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 7:15 pm]: BTW, if you’re on Twitter, The Steelers n’at ‏@thesteelersnat is a great follow. Really, really smart guy.
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 7:17 pm]: not going to list all the reasons i didnt like the jjones pick. his frigging 19 sacks which is the only thing u can point to as richard simmons has better measurables than him was accumulated against rbs, tes, and the florida LT who knows where he is and was often left alone to the qb as the real playmakers on the d were too busy freeing him up (i.e. ogletree)
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 7:18 pm]: “i wish they would have cut someone”! man i wish mitchell would have been cut
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 7:18 pm]: not going to ever win a sb with him starting and he is one of the cancerous players imo
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 7:18 pm]: They’re going to move Tuitt to Heyward’s spot in the rotation. He’ll be moving around more the rest of the year.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 7:24 pm]: Earl, you touched on something that really bothered me about that play. Jarvis was blocked by Jason Witten. He’s a good TE and a good blocker, as good as Heath was. But, he’s a TE. Jarvis is up to 255. He should be pushing TEs around, not being held up by them. Anyway, it’s disappointing. That’s all. Shazier and Hargrave were on the ground, and of no help whatsoever, and that’s a tough place to be. But, it’s still expected that Jarvis will move that TE another 3 feet. TBH, had he done his job well, I don’t think it would have mattered. With that angle, there is no way that Davis would have tackled him. But, he still has to do his job.
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 7:28 pm]: It looked like he just didnt try . He was responsible to crash the C gap and let Whtten stand him straight up . I guess the coaches saw his lack of effort on that play too. He is still going to play a bunch
Earl [November 16, 2016 – 7:34 pm]: We needed a stud and got a dud
endaround [November 16, 2016 – 7:44 pm]: who more and likely ,,,,,,,,,,pounds his PUD !!!!!!
endaround [November 16, 2016 – 7:46 pm]: I still think JJ is trying to play his way out of the Burg….I say goodbye and pickup a 3 rd round comp pick for his sorry ass…….
endaround [November 16, 2016 – 7:52 pm]: The day after they drafted this kid they had him at the Steelers Fan Fest which is held that Saturday after the first pick of the draft…I was there and just by looking at his body language you could see that he was not all the into it..Maybe by chance some of these kids that they pick from the south does not want to head to the north and play..It would not surprise me if the Steelers let him go and one of those teams in the south picks him up that you’ll see him play the way he came out of Georgia,,
endaround [November 16, 2016 – 7:57 pm]: what has happened to the LB from Temple..I can’t evenpronounce his name let alone spell it..The kid likes to stick his nose into the action..Get his ass out there and learnby baptism..Hell he can’t be any worse than the LB’s now
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 9:40 pm]: u guys keep saying he got blocked by witten. he was blocked by no 89 gavin or galvin escobar who is more of a Y TE which makes it even worse
malsor [November 16, 2016 – 9:44 pm]: well i go under the knife (again) tomorrow morning. ill post on here while flying from the meds tomorrow. had a talk w my neighbor at our gym here. he is from pitt and goes back and forth for business. he had a 20 min phone convo w a local guy there that shall remain nameless about ab, tomlin, dd, s.thomas, hargraves, mccullers, AV,eli rogers, davis, burns. some good some bad. later guys
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 11:00 pm]: @endaround: in order to get a 3rd round comp pick for Jarvis, he’d have to get a $10 million dollar plus per year contract. No chance.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 11:01 pm]: @malsor: I’ll rewatch it. I read that it was Witten and never even checked.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 11:07 pm]: Malsor, take everything you hear out of Pittsburgh with an entire shaker of salt, especially when comes to sports figures. I’ve never been in a city that behaved more like a giant sewing circle when it comes to sports gossip. I have been burned more times than I can count now.
abennihana [November 16, 2016 – 11:10 pm]: @Earl: you’re right about the stud/dud thing. Any 1st rounder is expected to be an impact player.
Earl [November 17, 2016 – 5:51 am]: Who new how much they would miss Jason Worilds
Earl [November 17, 2016 – 5:59 am]: Worse Steeler D since 1988 ? Damn they suck
Earl [November 17, 2016 – 6:01 am]: Unfortunately for the Stillers , the next man up should stay on the practice squad
M Walsh [November 17, 2016 – 7:36 am]: I will still say this D has talent.
M Walsh [November 17, 2016 – 7:39 am]: 1986 had John Swain and Harvey Clayton as our CB’s. An aged Robin Cole, Gary Dunn and Donnie Shell.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 7:40 am]: When you have ILBs what require beino covered to make plays and you have no good NTS, you have the beginning of the collapse. Any team can run on us.
M Walsh [November 17, 2016 – 8:18 am]: We could have used CJ Mosley…
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 8:21 am]: I liked Mosley
M Walsh [November 17, 2016 – 8:25 am]: A tackling machine
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 8:33 am]: Well boys are season will be determined one way or another this week at CLE. If we give CLE their first and maybe only win season over. With CH on IR defense is really going to suck. Looks like JH will be starting over JJ. What does that say??
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 8:36 am]: We don’t have Mosley we have who we have. Butler needs to to be held accountable. CLE will run and pound as they have NO QB.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 8:46 am]: Here’s the thing about Mosley though, the DTs in front for him are good to great (Williams).
Earl [November 17, 2016 – 9:00 am]: Are we giving Shazier a free pass ? I know he makes an occasional “splash” play but he whiffs a bunch too . Should we expect better from him?
Earl [November 17, 2016 – 9:05 am]: Think of Big Bens legend if the D hadnt spoiled eight 4th qtr comebacks since 2007
M Walsh [November 17, 2016 – 10:00 am]: Damn, I loved Landon Collins…
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 11:13 am]: Every QB has had 4th quarter comebacks spoiled by their D. It’s a lot more common than people think. Drew Brees has had it happen 13 times. Romo 8 times, Ben 8 times, 7 of which are since 2009.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 11:15 am]: Career losses after leading in the 4th qtr: Drew Brees: 34, Tom Brady: 16
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 11:15 am]: The point being that it happens to lots of good QBs.
Earl [November 17, 2016 – 11:20 am]: 3 or 4 QB’s doesnt count as “lots”
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 11:23 am]: John Hadl, a QB who played for the Chargers and Rams, had 7 4th quarter comebacks spoiled. Dan Marino also had 7, one against the Steelers.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 11:24 am]: How many of those names doe you recognize as good QBs? All but Hadl? And he was good too. Played for 17 years because of it.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 11:26 am]: What I’m getting at is the good QBs are the ones who can put their team in a position to win games late. Sometimes the D blows it. If you have one of the Cleveland QBs since ’99, comebacks are rare.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 11:28 am]: Through his career, Ben has 38 4th Qtr coimeback/game winning drives,… along with 8 that were spoiled by his defenses, 7 since 2009.
M Walsh [November 17, 2016 – 12:05 pm]: So that’s 7 out of 8 under Tomlin?
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 12:07 pm]: Max Starks in the PG today, “Steelers defense is two years away.”
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 12:08 pm]: @M Walsh: Yes, but also 27 4th qtr comebacks/game winning drives. Ben only played 2 of 12 years under Cowher.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 12:13 pm]: @walsh; just got home from surgery and off the top of my head. but the 86 defense without checking had in their prime merriweather (already the best playmaker comparing the 2 defenses), hinkle, willis, keith gary, gerald williams, david little, dwayne woodruff, god what year was the delton hall thomas everett (loved him and was sick when he went to the cowgirls- him and lloyd were frigging awesome), was hardy nickerson with us yet? anyway i think they had more playmakers without looking
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 12:17 pm]: Really didn’t think Steve McLendon was going to be that big a loss. He has been. Pulling a NT and adding a safety does not solve our run defense woes either.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 12:17 pm]: lol i loved rick woods no 22 and i remember he had a big int in that denver upset that propelled us to the mia champinship game in the 84 season. lupe sanchez?! wow blasts fromt the pasts. how noll got that 84 team to the afc championship is beyond me
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 12:18 pm]: yes i liked mcclendon and as u said hargroves is not only playing out of position at NT but he is jumping up from D2A. asking the impossible
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 12:18 pm]: Hargrave is a one gap DL.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 12:19 pm]: yep
M Walsh [November 17, 2016 – 12:24 pm]: Rick Woods was one of my favorites. Wore #22 in college intramural football.
M Walsh [November 17, 2016 – 12:25 pm]: 1986: LDE Keith Willis
NT Gary Dunn
RDE Edmund Nelson
LOLB Mike Merriweather*
LILB David Little
RILB Robin Cole
ROLB Bryan Hinkle
LCB John Swain
RCB Harvey Clayton
SS Donnie Shell
FS Eric Williams
M Walsh [November 17, 2016 – 12:27 pm]: Yes, the LB’s are better in 1986 but they SHOULDN’T be. Four 1st round picks in 2016.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 12:28 pm]: going back to the conversation that was had w a reporter (very well known that covers the team not w gazette anymore) he had this to say (nothing is earth shattering and confirmed what myself and many of us observe). my neighbor called specifically because he was inquiring about ab and covered some other guys: AB; said that he has never seen a transformation like this before. he is an island in the locker room, players are fed up including ben, he used to be so open to the press now he either has head phones on and not engaging or mumbles one word answers, complete diva from being “one of the most humble guys he had seen” (i predicted when he hired rosenhaus it was all over btw). Tomlin: he believes someone like a rooney had a talk w him to calm it down on the bravado or he is for the first time somewhat defeated in his realization also said the hate between him and harbaugh is on another level and the players know it and the showing in that game didnt sit well (cont)
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 12:35 pm]: DD: good guy and doesnt believe the money got to him. has had to play some tough dlineman this year i.e. fletcher cox, cinci front, bmore front, jets front, suh w miami and maybe lost some confidence when u go against guys like that a little bit harder to get back on track. S.thomas: he is so not smart that they cant trust him to ever cover his assignment but a really nice kid as we all know. Hargraves: playing out of position as abenn said a one gap dlineman making a big jump but thinks he will be a good player, good makeup, humble, hard worker. Mccullers has all the strength but just doesnt want to be a football player, not motivated but isnt dumb, dd said probably the strongest guy he has ever faced. AV as we all know great story but he should be a backup, is being really exposed by pass rushers getting the first step on him and probably why he is getting some motion penalties as he is trying to get to the spot before the lineman does, once they had tape on him defenses exposed his
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 12:39 pm]: @M Walsh: Only if you count Dupree and you can’t. And yes, obviously Jarvis has not been the impact player they need.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 12:41 pm]: weaknesses. Eli rogers: mystery why he isnt playing more and what really happened, said the story from staff and players are vague and not consistent. Sean davis: going to be a good one, really likes this kid and once it clicks thinks we got a good one (remember how bad TP was in his first year). in the issue of leadership cam is the closest thing but comes nowhere near what farrior and aaron smith would bring (apparently those were the most prominent/best if thats a description), most of the rest led by example i.e. tp who was very quiet. oh keith butler isnt bad not a superstar in the making but good enough just doesnt have the horses right now. so nothing earth shattering but its from a guy that we all read his articles im sure (i know i have).
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 12:43 pm]: been saying it since beginning of year i dont want ab back. before the year i wasnt sure. and this info means nothing. i had enough already and especially since tomlin did nothing to stem it. almost encourages it “what do u want me to do not play him?” how a head coach in the NFL can say that is beyond comprehension
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 1:10 pm]: @walsh; never knew i had a fellow rick woods fan lol
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 1:21 pm]: something that was overlooked given the more prominent injuries and suspensions was the loss of both ryan harris who was signed to probably take the spot of AV if he turned out to be what the steelers thought. sucks to have lost their 4th rounder too hawkins. man next year cant come soon enough.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 1:36 pm]: I know they were afraid that some team would claim Hawkins if they cut him and tried to put him on the PS later, but I wish they would have put him on the 53 and waited for him to get healthy. Cody Wallace sat there for 8 weeks and did nothing.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 1:42 pm]: The story I heard on Rogers was very concise. He was 10 minutes late to a Wednesday meeting that week. He was fined. He accepted it and was very contrite. He was then almost an hour late to the Saturday walkthru. They dressed him and did not play him. He’s responded well since and is climbing the depth chart again. They like him. He just screwed up one week. I was also told that when he was injured, they had to go to lengths to protect him from himself.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 1:43 pm]: Rogers wants to play and is working hard. I’m not concerned about him.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 1:47 pm]: I know the Tomlin story is true. If you recall I posted that here last year. The controversy apparently reared it’s head again in 2015 because Mike wasn’t what the Rooneys considered austere about the New England loss. Prior to that, Troy and a few other long time vets liked “Mean 2007-2008 Tomlin” better than “Cool 2011 and since Tomlin”. Tomlin ran a tougher camp this year. That’s fairly common knowledge.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 1:48 pm]: As for the Tomlin-Harbaugh rivalry, that has it’s roots in the 2008 AFC Championship Game. After the game Tomlin tried to compliment the Ravens by saying that they “are a big part of what we are, because iron sharpens iron” was responded to by Harbaugh by saying that the Steelers weren’t that good and that the Ravens beat themselves. He then stole “Iron Sharpens Iron”. It’s a Ratbird slogan, just like “The Standard is The Standard” in Pittsburgh; and instructed his O line coach to install a game plan for Pittsburgh that included as many chop blocks as possible (now illegal). Then in 2011 when the Steelers opened with the Rats and were spanked (the Warren Sapp “old & slow” game), Harbaugh decided to rub it in by going for two after a TD when he already had a big lead. They’ve had other back and forth things pop up including both “forgetting” to shake the other one’s hand, Tomlin interfering with Harbaugh’s returner, something John is sure Mike did on purpose. Blah, blah,
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:07 pm]: good stuff abenn. i swear that bmore showing was so bad i watched them get together at midfield and it looked like harbaugh almost felt sorry for him w a smile that in my mind was like whoa u really might not be here and our rivalry could be over. i know the announcers were in shock at the depths of the pop warner like errors and comatose like showing. maybe i was looking for it given my state but it seemed like harbaugh pitied him.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:08 pm]: abenn what would u do with AB?
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:09 pm]: look im not saying harbaugh didnt enjoy beating the shit out of him. it just seemed like he even couldnt believe that game. i think if tomlin were to go he might genuinely miss being able to live up to the asshole he is by not conjuring up as much hate as possible
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:10 pm]: Sign AB. His work ethic is even greater than his self promotion effort. I’d structure it in such a way that I could get rid of him after Ben retired though.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:12 pm]: yeah have a hedge in there. tomlin has to set boundaries starting now though for the tone of next year
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:12 pm]: me personally wouldnt be upset in the least to jettison him after the year
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:15 pm]: I didn’t see any pity from Harbaugh there. I can still recall the look on his face when that fake worked and the Rats converted that two point conversion. He was up 20 in the 3rd quarter, about to go up 21 and went for two. You think Tomlin wasn’t thinking about that in the game where Ben threw 6 TDs?
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:17 pm]: again it was probably the state i was in. just felt that for the first time harbaugh looked like wow u really might not be here or wtf was that
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:17 pm]: Can’t let him walk. He’s too good. Players like that don’t come along very often. Unfortunately, as you’ve pointed out, he’s hired Yes-Man Rosenhaus and I’m sure some others around him are yes people as well.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:18 pm]: he reminds me of the wr in ballers. or pretty much every wr stereotype. one thing is that he isnt hated or a pariah like a TO but the teammates and ben more importantly have grown tired of it. tomlin had to stand up to him and blew it
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:19 pm]: I can see a “WTF was that”, but Harbaugh is a prick. There is no concern or love lost there.
Earl [November 17, 2016 – 2:20 pm]: That prick is a better coach than Tomlin
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:20 pm]: i will never forget those 5 penalties on 3 total plays and the circumstances surrounding them coming off a bye against a division rival. to me that was all i needed to see to know the state of the team (nothing to do w talent but the issues that have all bubbled to the surface)
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:21 pm]: “STs plays”
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:22 pm]: Dude, I know that he and Ben had words after the Bengals game. Ben was pissed. They won and AB whined throughout.
Earl [November 17, 2016 – 2:22 pm]: But he is a D-Bag prick . The RATS can keep him
Earl [November 17, 2016 – 2:23 pm]: If Ben is tired of his shit .. AB might be gone
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:25 pm]: heres the thing. ben realizes his window is closing and is sounding the alarm. if he thinks its worth it he will tell the rooneys. going to be an interesting and pivotal offseason
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:26 pm]: Ben likes winning. How do you think he set aside Arians (a father figure) getting fired and a guy he didn’t like (Haley) becoming his boss?
Earl [November 17, 2016 – 2:26 pm]: Depot reports only 7 missed tackles -v- Cowboys … I find that hard to believe
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:27 pm]: as far as ben being a leader its very tough for any qb to as they r always the highest paid and almost unrelatable to the rest of the team given the nature of their position v the other 52. leadership other than heyward has to develop
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:27 pm]: just dont know what coach they’ll learn it from
Earl [November 17, 2016 – 2:27 pm]: Ben can ride AB straight to Canton and maybe another Super Bowl if they can get this D a little better
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:28 pm]: Not happening this year with the defense.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:29 pm]: hey jerry yeah im talking for 2017. need for some guys to step up going into next year
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:30 pm]: Looks like Coates was full participant at practice. Gotta keep Ben healthy. No games missed.
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:31 pm]: in 2017
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:31 pm]: and/or they need to identify some veteran FAs that are locker room guys. talented would be a bonus. but they can be cheap and really help a major issue imo
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:31 pm]: Dont think JJ will be here next year. BUST
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:32 pm]: When is Dupree coming back
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:33 pm]: I think Bust is a strong term. Jarvis will be a pro for a while. Bust for a 1st rounder? Yeah. No denying that.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:33 pm]: Dupree is supposed to be back Sunday. But, I wouldn’t count on him playing much. He’s not in shape.
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:34 pm]: Harrison will be getting start at CLE
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:34 pm]: What does that say???????
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:34 pm]: he never came close to what clark haggans was (my hope ). haggans was what a 3 or 4 or 5 ? jason worlids is like jh compared to jjones
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:35 pm]: lol i’ll stop on the jjones stuff. i think he’s surpassed the k. lewis debacle on my posts/rants
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:35 pm]: No I’m talking Greg LLoyd and Kevin Greene
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:36 pm]: Oh to have that defense with this offense. One can dream
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:37 pm]: I think Haggans was a 5.
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:38 pm]: What about Gildon
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:39 pm]: Bottom line is this, like I’ve been saying for a year, Jarvis would be a good SAM in a 4-3. He is miscast in a 3-4. If I were him, I would leave.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:39 pm]: Gildon was a 3 and a good player. He is what I thought Jarvis could be. Never a star, but a good player. I was so wrong.
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:40 pm]: I would agree there. Not sure why they don’t run a 4-3 since our LB’s suck
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:40 pm]: Word is that Bell may get a shot at returning punts this week.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:40 pm]: @JMS55: We don’t have enough competent D linemen.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:41 pm]: I am going to be sick to my stomach should this happen, but who thinks Baltimore wins in Dallas this week?
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:42 pm]: wow gildon was a beast imo. wasnt necessarily a star in the sense that he was recognized out of pitt but man right up there w all our star olbs in the 3-4 imo
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:43 pm]: NO way DO THEY WIN. Flacco sucksas does the whole offense. they might be able to stop the run but Prescott is the real deal and they are playing inDallas.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:43 pm]: and my god was he yoked when i met him in 2013. i didnt even recognize him until i shook his hand
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:44 pm]: Rats lost to both Giants and Jets and the games they won looked awful.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:44 pm]: I have a sinking feeling and did as soon as someone told me they played them this week. It was right after our game. Baltimore has a better D than we do, at least up front and that’s what you need to beat Dallas.
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:44 pm]: They need an offense. Dallas”s D is pretty good.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:45 pm]: Dallas’ D sucks.
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:45 pm]: Rats have OL issues
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:46 pm]: Nope. They’re finally healthy. Got that way just in time to play us.
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:46 pm]: They are 8-1
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:47 pm]: Gildon was an interesting player. He didn’t have but one pass rush move: Bull Rush. He made it work for a long time.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:48 pm]: Well, obviously I want the Rats to lose. But, look at it this way, either way someone you hate is going to lose.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:48 pm]: “baby lloyd”–kevin greene re gildon
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:50 pm]: Lloyd had more pass rush moves and bend. Gildon was a pure speed to power guy.
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:51 pm]: WHO IS A LEWIS? GUARD FOR RATS HE’S OUT????CAMPANNARO OUT TOO.
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:52 pm]: http://www.baltimoreravens.com/team/injury-report.html
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:55 pm]: talking to my doc before i went under today and subject of the injuries came up in the nfl (his passion is weighlifting/sports too and is prominent here in vegas) and told me he has talked to strength coaches in the nfl about the injury crisis. they told him that in their opinion the move to the more cerebral or holistic approach to weights during the season (basically not lifting nearly as much) v old school lifting (also the new cba limiting what the coaches can control in camp)is in their belief a contributing factor. ive heard so many theories. biggest is probably bigger, faster , stronger but tendons, joints and ligaments stay the same for the most part and something has to give. also given the heightened awareness of after career concerns leads, rightly so, to guys not playing when in the past they would have
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 2:56 pm]: Campanaro hasn’t done anything this year. That doesn’t mean anything. Lewis is a starter at LG. What I was referring to was health issues at LT, C and their All Pro RG, Yanda. All got healthy just in time to play us. Lewis not playing would be a good thing, but him not practicing for two days doesn’t necessarily mean he’s out yet.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 2:57 pm]: but there is no question that the “football gods” have not been on our side going on 6 years now. seems like we have had more injuries to our stars consistently now for 6 years. of course the self induced suspensions dont help either
JMS55 [November 17, 2016 – 2:59 pm]: We have way too many injuries. The suspensions need to stop.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 3:00 pm]: Speaking of speed to power. Jesse James held the power clean record at Penn State when he was there (350). Why he is so terrible at blocking is beyond me.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 3:01 pm]: technique i guess. but shows no improvement which is the worst part
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 3:02 pm]: If you recall, Heath wasn’t very good as a rookie. He got better.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 3:03 pm]: in a situation like james would munchak have input on that or is it all on daniels (TE coach im pretty sure?) given the relationship between in line blocking like a lineman but at the TE spot?
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 3:03 pm]: probably some input from munchak. not mutually exclusive
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 3:04 pm]: James is 6’7″. Maybe that has something to do with it.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 3:05 pm]: I would think that Munch would have some, yes.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 3:09 pm]: yeah at 6’7″ has to be hard to be the “lower man” every time
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 3:11 pm]: They told James to get stronger over the offseason, but not to gain weight. He actually showed up for camp lighter than last year.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 3:13 pm]: interesting. he said they lose so much weight during the season (nothing we dont know) and they dont put it back on anymore as they move away from weights (jh seems old school lol) and in their opinion allows for more injuries during a grueling season as the body isnt as strong
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 3:14 pm]: He was already 15 pounds lighter than where he played at Penn State.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 4:08 pm]: Here’s some food for thought. Even at 0-10, Cleveland has been in a position to win 5 games in the 4th quarter.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 5:06 pm]: they had the mia game in mia won. only to lose in browns fashion like missing a game winning fg that was less than the length of an extra point. then they made more browns like (or should i now say steeler like) errors in ot. until the dallas game and at bmore they have been in every game. of course i predicted a loss to cleve after they imo would have beat dallas and before heyward went down. 8.5 points is stealing and i still believe that clev gets out of the winless column this week. watch out for terrell pryor, corey coleman and whatever rb they choose to get the yardage – crowell or duke johsnson
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 5:27 pm]: Dupree took some reps with the 1s today. I heard last week that he would play vs Cleveland, but now I’d be shocked if he wasn’t active on Sunday.
endaround [November 17, 2016 – 5:41 pm]: abenn..Even if Jones was a first round draft pick they wouldn’t actually get a 3rd round pick ..So what you are saying is that the next team would have to give him a 10 mill contract before they would be considered for that pick
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 5:48 pm]: got dropped mid repsonse
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 5:53 pm]: Yes. The comp pick formula has nothing at all to do with what round they were originally selected in. The formula takes into consideration the size of the contract, playing time and post season honors. The sizable contracts are the ones that generate the 3s, which are the highest picks you can get and the league only awards 32 picks total. Right now, it looks like there are a couple guys at a little over $9 million that will generate 3s. I expect that number to be $10 million next year.
abennihana [November 17, 2016 – 5:58 pm]: Right now, the only pick the Steelers are expected to get in 2017 is a 5/6 for Steve McLendon and he got a $3.5M per year contract. Ladarius Green cancels out Kelvin Beachum. Ryan Harris cancels out Sean Spence. Antwon Blake and Will Johnson will fall past the 32nd best contract awarded and their playing time is minimal.
Earl [November 17, 2016 – 7:38 pm]: I cant wait until Dak Prescott comes back down to earth. Its going to happen. I just hope its not against the Ravens . wouldnt shock me though
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 9:13 pm]: http://steelcityblitz.com/2016/11/17/jones-demotion-shot-across-porters-bow-well/ this is good. i think porter needs to go unfortunately (along with lake) at the very least. rare for good players to be good coaches in every sport.
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 9:13 pm]: altho munchak is an exception off the top of my head
malsor [November 17, 2016 – 9:42 pm]: dont say don mattingly as a dodger fan i couldnt wait for him to leave. larry bird had success.good night fellas
Earl [November 18, 2016 – 5:33 am]: So now even Haley is publicly busting on AB for going out of bounds . That’s proof something is wrong. If AB were a team guy and well liked , coaches wouldn’t be criticizing his play to a reporter. Maybe its nothing , Maybe it is
Earl [November 18, 2016 – 6:03 am]: Wrap your minds around the fact that its possible they lose to 0-10 Browns . I cannot dismiss that idea from my mind
Earl [November 18, 2016 – 8:14 am]: So will Tomlin activate Dupree or not ?
Earl [November 18, 2016 – 8:19 am]: Bell returning punts? Hmmm
endaround [November 18, 2016 – 8:53 am]: Earl,,,,,,here’s one..The loss to the Browns ,,could it be the farewell of Tomlin ????
endaround [November 18, 2016 – 8:55 am]: As to quote by Art Rooney II ,,” We are a much better team than the 4-5 record ”
endaround [November 18, 2016 – 8:57 am]: This game is pivotal…We lose it’s done !! we win could be the start of a run..
endaround [November 18, 2016 – 9:02 am]: So the 24 mill dollar TE is limited at practice…Say what you want,,,,,,this is yet another mindless deal done by Colbert..I still believe they should have drafted Henry and used that money on a secondary player who could have helped a lot better…
M Walsh [November 18, 2016 – 9:03 am]: Drafted Henry and actually play Justin Gilbert? lol
malsor [November 18, 2016 – 9:25 am]: in a lost season u look for young guys to emerge. so far eli rogers has probably been the best story. burns shows potential. sean davis will be a player. hargraves stands no chance at NT but i hear is a good kid and hard worker making a big leap. they need somebody to play the 20-30% of snaps that the NT is out on the field for in the offseason. mccullers isnt the answer. best thing is dupree (i really think he is a player and wanted him from the beginning) can get some experience for next year as i dont see how effective he can really be this season given the nature of his injury but him at 80% is better than everyone else sans jh at 100%. coates needs to come on and not sure how if he cant finish his routes or hold on to the ball. AV will not be our LT next year, w wheaton going on IR he might resign w us for nothing at 1 year. and while i predicted green will officially be done for the season by the time 2 more games are played if he doesnt we really need him to emerge. it would
malsor [November 18, 2016 – 9:30 am]: most importantly we need a semblance of a few leaders to emerge as well. id bring in some locker room guys as FAs next year (talent would be a bonus if they could just be good enough to be a role player so their voice resonates better). biggest thing of all though is for martavis bryant to stay/ be sober for the season
M Walsh [November 18, 2016 – 9:41 am]: Banking on a pot head…great…
endaround [November 18, 2016 – 10:02 am]: Defense ??? what will they run next season… Will Butler even be back next season..I could see them going back to a 4-3 type of D…Means the possibility of bringing players to fit that style…The AV project needs to stop..Love the guy ,,but man he’s is just tooo tall for the position..Looks like a robot at times..Not the quickest on his feet either..What’s in store with Bell and AB..I can’t see them signing both of them..One may have to go..They finally have somewhat of a good cap space money..Use it wisely on players that WANT to play for the Steelers..Not sign someone to a huge deal and then watch the player/players just go through the motions..The scouting department..Who heads this unit and why have they not scouted real talent..
abennihana [November 18, 2016 – 10:46 am]: Banking on a pot head…great… – Hey! Malsor isn’t a pothead. He’s hopped up on pain meds, but that’s all.
abennihana [November 18, 2016 – 11:12 am]: On Ladarius Green: The Steelers total investment in him is $6 million. After that it becomes a year to year proposition, regardless of the 4 year $20 million deal he signed. He’s easy to cut in any season because the room gained against the cap is far greater than the dead money that will hit it. Pittsburgh is not married to this guy. Also, he practiced fully Thursday. Everyone calm down a little about Green. He had some swelling on Monday and so they took precautions on Wednesday to make sure it didn’t get worse. That’s all.
abennihana [November 18, 2016 – 11:33 am]: because I don’t think we talked about it enough here, I just want to point out what a tough SOB Pouncey is. He dislocated his thumb at the top knuckle and bent it SIDEWAYS enough that it tore the skin. He went in to the locker room, they put it back in and stitched him up and he went back on the field. Then the cut re-opened, soaked his glove and they made him come out. The next week, he plays the whole game.
abennihana [November 18, 2016 – 11:46 am]: I understand why they wouldn’t let him play. I don’t know how many of you hunt. But, if you have ever gutted or butchered an animal, you know how slick blood is. Having Pouncey bleeding all over the ball every time he snapped it would be a problem even if no one is afraid of sanitary issues.
abennihana [November 18, 2016 – 11:55 am]: @Earl: Dupree plans on playing this week and took reps with the 1s Thursday. I’d be shocked if he is not activated. We won’t know until Saturday and he won’t play that much this week.
abennihana [November 18, 2016 – 12:06 pm]: OUT:
DE Cameron Heyward (Pectoral),
WR Darrius Heyward-Bey (Foot),
S Shamarko Thomas (Groin),
WR Markus Wheaton (Shoulder),
RB DeAngelo Williams (Knee) ~
DOUBTFUL:
No players listed ~
QUESTIONABLE:
S Jordan Dangerfield (Groin)
TE Xavier Grimble (Quadricep)
abennihana [November 18, 2016 – 12:51 pm]: @malsor: Marc feele very confident in the information he received RE: Porter losing some responsibilities. I am less so. His best source is prone to hyperbole and I cannot confirm anything at all like that. And, it’s not for lack of trying. I have asked everyone and I can’t get anything on it. I was told that Tomlin rarely ever handles in-game substitutions aside from the occasional benching. Expecting him to decide which OLBs play seems like a stretch. I have also heard that Jarvis has been Butler’s whipping boy since he was drafted. So is Shazier.
Earl [November 18, 2016 – 12:57 pm]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0aAkhVGnvM
malsor [November 18, 2016 – 1:50 pm]: @abenn; thanks for that info
malsor [November 18, 2016 – 1:53 pm]: i know everyone knows about terrell pryor but get ready for corey coleman to introduce himself this week. altho the 30 mph wind might force everyone shun the long passing game
abennihana [November 18, 2016 – 2:00 pm]: Coleman is a talent, but yes, the wind is going to play a roll this week. You have to be able to spin the ball really fast in those windy games. It puts the Browns at a disadvantage. It’s not like their QB talent is strong.
abennihana [November 18, 2016 – 2:04 pm]: The rookie WR I’m most disappointed we didn’t get to see more of this year is Josh Doctson. Haley loved that kid. Plays for WASH and is on IR. He has Bryant like potential without the dope smoke.
abennihana [November 18, 2016 – 2:21 pm]: Looking at this Rats-Cowboys game again and this is a good matchup for Baltimore. This sucks. Baltimore has a very good Run D and that is the strength of Dallas’ Offense.
Earl [November 18, 2016 – 2:26 pm]: I would not be shocked if the RATS won this game. It will be interesting to see if they can make the Boys one dimensional and force Dak to beat them
abennihana [November 18, 2016 – 2:37 pm]: If Baltimore wins, even a 30 point Steelers win will leave me incredulous.
abennihana [November 18, 2016 – 3:51 pm]: I’m sure most of people already know this but,… ray Lewis says that Joe Flacco lacks passion. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/11/17/ray-lewis-says-joe-flacco-lacks-passion-for-football/
abennihana [November 18, 2016 – 3:57 pm]: Pretty sure that Lewis is just getting Flacco back for one of the greatest football quotes of all time: “I love Ray, and I love how he always spoke from the heart, but if you listened to those speeches, a lot of them didn’t even make sense,” Flacco said a year after Lewis retired. “He meant everything he was saying, but I didn’t know what he was talking about 90 percent of the time.”
JAMESH [November 18, 2016 – 9:54 pm]: We must all raise our esteem of Joe Flacco immediately. Thanks, Ben!
JAMESH [November 18, 2016 – 9:57 pm]: @earl – I agree with you, Earl. Harbaugh’s a good enough coach to watch our film and figure out what to do and what not to do. It then comes down to utilization of talent which is what coaching is all about.
abennihana [November 19, 2016 – 9:15 am]: I have to verify credit to Dean Pees. Before he joined their staff, the Steelers beat the Rats with regularity.
abennihana [November 19, 2016 – 9:16 am]: Anyone else seeing a general slowness or slow responsiveness from the site when you post?
abennihana [November 19, 2016 – 9:17 am]: *I have to GIVE credit to Dean Pees….*
abennihana [November 19, 2016 – 11:50 am]: Heyward & Wheaton to IR. Bud Dupree & Daryl Richardson added to the roster.
M Walsh [November 19, 2016 – 11:56 am]: I am having big issues using the site on my iPhone.
M Walsh [November 19, 2016 – 11:56 am]: Maybe we can resign Wheaton really cheep now…
abennihana [November 19, 2016 – 12:05 pm]: I’m kind of pissed about the way Wheaton’s season has gone. I really thought he’d get a nice contract when he left and we’d get a comp pick. Now we’ll get nothing.
abennihana [November 19, 2016 – 12:36 pm]: Notice that they added Walsh’s guy Richardson back over Karlos Williams, who I hear is still overweight.
malsor [November 19, 2016 – 5:31 pm]: wheaton was part of the trio that had to step up to make up for the loss of bryant. we needed a typical FA year from wheaton (when a guy puts up his best numbers due to impending contract), and coates and green to help take the top off of defenses. instead ab is not only getting double teamed but triple teamed with impunity. its been a total disaster and who would have thought that going into next year our offense is almost as uncertain as the defense as far as what to expect. bell, ab, wheaton (as abenn said no comp pick but now we might resign him given it’ll be so cheap and we might even need him), coates has done nothing other than run go routes, green imo wasnt healthy sunday and will be officially ruled out the rest of the season after trying to play in tomorrow’s game. oh and dwill is gone too
abennihana [November 19, 2016 – 5:44 pm]: Green was out of shape last week. I don’t know why that would come as a surprise. He’ll be fine. Doesn’t mean I think he’ll have a good performance the rest of the year, but he’ll be alright. Coates can run more than just 9s. He can run a tree, not as well as AB, but he can run them. He runs slants and posts very well, for instance. DeAngelo is a 34 year old RB. Not much he can do to fight Father Time. That is what it is. I don’t expect him back either. But, next year you have AB, Bryant, Coates, DHB and Rogers in the WR corps. Not too shabby. You have Bell, who I expect them to franchise when he turns down their offer for not guaranteeing enough money, Fitz, Richardson and Karlos Williams. Gonna have to draft a RB. Also a QB because Landry Jones is not good and Mettenberger has underwhelmed so far.
abennihana [November 19, 2016 – 5:47 pm]: Maybe James will hire someone to teach him how to block this year in the offseason. That would be money well invested IMO.
malsor [November 19, 2016 – 5:48 pm]: yep that is best case scenario. hope it happens
abennihana [November 19, 2016 – 5:50 pm]: Coates was averaging 84 yards per game and 22 yards per catch before the injury. It surprises me that so many have soured on him a month later. I think it’s just frustration because of this weird, fucked up season.
abennihana [November 19, 2016 – 5:53 pm]: Not sure what to expect from Coates going forward in 2016. The coaches like that he’s fighting through this injury. But he has a broken index and ring finger on the same hand and Ben had him benched last week.
malsor [November 19, 2016 – 5:53 pm]: his weaknesses (drops can be attributed to his injury but him not finishing the top of his routes) were magnified after the injury. i still dont get why he is playing gunner w an injured hand especially when u r in desperate need of a no 2. a gunner is literally the last position u would want somebody who is trying to heal their hand playing
malsor [November 19, 2016 – 5:54 pm]: btw my posts have been delayed posting for a few days now since u brought it up
abennihana [November 19, 2016 – 5:55 pm]: I’ve asked. They don’t feel like he’ll make his injuries worse by playing through them. Not sure I agree, but I’m not a doictor or trainer.
abennihana [November 19, 2016 – 5:55 pm]: My posts too. The window seems to be delayed on displaying what I type as well.
Earl [November 20, 2016 – 9:07 am]: Do or Die Sunday men .
EstimatedProphet [November 20, 2016 – 9:07 am]: dont know what to do
EstimatedProphet [November 20, 2016 – 9:08 am]: last 5 years if I go out to watch them, they almost always embarrass me, but its the only way I can see game outside primetime
EstimatedProphet [November 20, 2016 – 9:09 am]: not sure if its my special curse, or just the fact they they are usually 11 o’clock games, and they are UP FOR THEM
Earl [November 20, 2016 – 9:12 am]: Surely they wont lose to Cleveland …..
Earl [November 20, 2016 – 9:13 am]: Sadly , I really want to watch the Ravens Cowwboys game
EstimatedProphet [November 20, 2016 – 9:41 am]: huh, dont know if I should go with Dez against the Rats D, or Eli Rogers
EstimatedProphet [November 20, 2016 – 9:42 am]: who do I want to kill my fantasy season, the Rats or Steelers?
EstimatedProphet [November 20, 2016 – 10:27 am]: I’ll sit Eli, then he will have a good game
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 11:03 am]: anybody read the article with Max Starks when he says our defense is still a couple years away i’m afraid i tend to agree with him- our guys just don’t have the experience of tough losses Max’s SB teams did, or the experience of overcoming them. W/o at least an AFCCG appearence i think Tomlin might “move on” in 3 yrs or less.
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 11:13 am]: ought to save the celebration til they win one
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 11:14 am]: gee- i show up n everybody leaves…again? is it me?
pubunchka [November 20, 2016 – 11:22 am]: Well that sucks a nice long field goal drive.
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 11:25 am]: the wind down there looks awful
pubunchka [November 20, 2016 – 11:26 am]: I used to live close to there in Pa. and moved to Florida to get away from that cold windy weather.
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 11:32 am]: Finally able to log in. Was getting “too many requests” error.
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 11:33 am]: Listenening on SNR. Anyone see that call against Burns was valid or not?
pubunchka [November 20, 2016 – 11:33 am]: yes it was
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 11:35 am]: it was acting funny when i signed in to
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 11:35 am]: 2 sacks and an int so D is looking better.
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 11:36 am]: call on Burns came waaaaay late- after a sack, so the DPI/HANDS was pointless
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 11:48 am]: Need td’s not FG’s!
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 11:50 am]: 29 plays ….6 points. If Mitchell gently shoved their QB back to the ground their would have been a flag.
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 11:50 am]: Rats leading ‘boys.
pubunchka [November 20, 2016 – 11:51 am]: Is it me or did Green look disinterested on that play in the endzone.
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 11:58 am]: Need some 2 minute magic.
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 12:08 pm]: Incredible pass
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 12:10 pm]: i just saw Lucifer von Belicheck i the CLE crowd!
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 12:11 pm]: @pubunchka: Green has looked neither very good nor very bright imo
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 12:15 pm]: Man MT is an addicted gambler.
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 12:16 pm]: Everynow and then he wins. I would have kicked the FG though.
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 12:17 pm]: @Tuskegee_Brown: uh….yeah.
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 12:17 pm]: Big balls!!
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 12:17 pm]: Browns being the Browns.
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 12:18 pm]: Big Mo!
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 12:18 pm]: Steel Balls!..DJ!
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 12:19 pm]: Get the ball to start the 2nd half and bring more doom and gloom to the Brownies.
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 12:19 pm]: DJ is one of our most unsung guys
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 12:32 pm]: Andy Dalton is hurt…
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 12:37 pm]: Who’s Bungles backup?
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 12:39 pm]: Sorryass D!
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 12:41 pm]: Damn gonna let the brownies make a game of it.
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 12:42 pm]: what a fucking catch.
pubunchka [November 20, 2016 – 12:43 pm]: This D is horrible
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 12:43 pm]: SILVERBACK SACK MASTER!
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 12:44 pm]: Well deserved 92
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 12:44 pm]: Deebo has the sack record!
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 12:44 pm]: this defense is #2 in NFL in redzone defense..
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 12:47 pm]: if we manage to get to the post-season i think this team *could* win a couple playoff games
pubunchka [November 20, 2016 – 12:49 pm]: I would be surprised at that Tob. This defense is bad against the pass.
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 12:51 pm]: not accortding to the states from Rich Gannon on the brfoadcast
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 12:51 pm]: *stats
pubunchka [November 20, 2016 – 12:52 pm]: I believe they are 28th in the league.
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 12:56 pm]: Good gameplan today. Should have been the gameplan for the MIA game.
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 1:01 pm]: @Tuskegee_Brown: excellent point
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 1:06 pm]: No they are 25th overall in D; however, they are in fact #2 in Red Zone TD D. Granted take that ranking with a grain of salt. Who cares about RZ when you can score from 95, 75 and 50 the last 2 games.
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 1:07 pm]: Jesse James is better than Green right now.
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 1:09 pm]: @Tuskegee_Brown: Jesse is pretty at everything and improving fast, especially his blocking
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 1:10 pm]: Rats & Bungles both losing. Hope itstays that way.
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 1:11 pm]: Yeah seem like they are forcing the ball to Green just because he is a FA.
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 1:12 pm]: i guess they have to work him in sometime but it does seem like something’s missing so far
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 1:13 pm]: Hurting Kessler may prove disasterous. McCown could come back against our sieve of a D.
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 1:15 pm]: Damn TE kills us again.
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 1:15 pm]: Mckown scares me.
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 1:19 pm]: Whiff Davis!
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 1:20 pm]: Davis has to make that tackle
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 1:21 pm]: Here we go snatchin defeat from the jaws of victory.
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 1:22 pm]: Can’t defend TE’s. Make it stop! Please!
pubunchka [November 20, 2016 – 1:23 pm]: I hate this defense.
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 1:23 pm]: naw…the FOS blew the extra point
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 1:24 pm]: Why can’t the Steelers use their TE’s like every other team seems to be able to.
pubunchka [November 20, 2016 – 1:24 pm]: Our 2 rookies are missing the boat. Davis whiffs and Burns gets beat again.
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 1:25 pm]: regardless of rumors top the contrary the Factory Of Sadness IS, in fact, still an NFL team. I think..
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 1:26 pm]: @pubunchka: i’m not seeing that; i’m seeing good play be the other team + the usual raff of bad calls by the refs
pubunchka [November 20, 2016 – 1:26 pm]: Really
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 1:30 pm]: Refs miss facemask on Bell. We can’t get a call.
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 1:31 pm]: Not seeing the game but is Ben throwing short due to wind or noone open?
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 1:34 pm]: That’s twice LT! Stop it!!!!!!
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 1:35 pm]: Refs finally got 1 right.
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 1:37 pm]: Need a clock eating drive.
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 1:41 pm]: Haden blatant hold. No call.
tennbob [November 20, 2016 – 1:46 pm]: How about that!
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 1:47 pm]: We are unleashing hell
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 1:52 pm]: That was a hell of a hit by Tuitt. Dont know how McCown shoulder is still in one piece.
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 1:56 pm]: reminds me of a Cowher team- no run game for the opp., lots of sacks
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 1:57 pm]: and relatively low score
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 2:01 pm]: ALWAYS a flag on our big plays…
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 2:05 pm]: My 11-5 prediction lives another week
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 2:07 pm]: i went 12-4 but i’m happy with 11-5 if we can
tobiathan [November 20, 2016 – 2:08 pm]: Artie Burns might be a gamer…
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 2:10 pm]: Agree, his best game yet. Could have had 3 INTs
M Walsh [November 20, 2016 – 2:19 pm]: Lost in all this is Todd Haley sucks…
copanut [November 20, 2016 – 2:35 pm]: Leave it to the Browns to make the worst pass rushing team in the NFL look like the best. Thanks, Cleveland.
M Walsh [November 20, 2016 – 2:41 pm]: @copanut: The site is having issues, especially on the iPhone.
M Walsh [November 20, 2016 – 2:42 pm]: 8 sacks, none by Jarvis Jones…all you need to know.
Tuskegee_Brown [November 20, 2016 – 2:42 pm]: 11 missed extra points this week. I wonder if those coaches will get blasted for going for 1.
M Walsh [November 20, 2016 – 2:45 pm]: I had a problem with Tomlin’s 2nd try at 2 last week.
M Walsh [November 20, 2016 – 2:45 pm]: That was the only one. The first one he has done that before. 3 and 4 you had to because you went for #2.
EstimatedProphet [November 20, 2016 – 4:13 pm]: no F’ing way should they have kept chasing the TD at the end of the half, without getting bailed out by flags, they walk away with nothing
Earl [November 20, 2016 – 4:33 pm]: Lost in this great win .. The Stains converted 4th down 4 times . Dumb ass stupid penalties continue to erase nice plays
Earl [November 20, 2016 – 4:34 pm]: Timmons brought the wood today
copanut [November 20, 2016 – 4:34 pm]: We may experience some chat downtime as I test alternatives to the existing system. It’s a great system but has always had major performance issues. Now sure I can find anything better but I will try.
Earl [November 20, 2016 – 4:34 pm]: Why activate a player and not let him play? Dumb
Earl [November 20, 2016 – 4:35 pm]: Some great new looks on Defense that worked .. against the browns
M Walsh [November 20, 2016 – 4:51 pm]: Well, it worked against someone!
JAMESH [November 20, 2016 – 5:57 pm]: I had suggested ahead of the Dallas game that they try a formation that they did use against the Browns. McCullers and Hargrave as DTs with Tuitt and Mathews as DEs. Only Butler not only rushed all four, he blitzed the two OLBs.
JAMESH [November 20, 2016 – 5:59 pm]: Lots of Timmons blitzing around the OLB was nice to see. Several S blitzes with Davis, too.
JAMESH [November 20, 2016 – 6:00 pm]: No QB, including any Browns QB, has more wins at Browns Stadium than Ben. tee hee
Earl [November 20, 2016 – 6:08 pm]: Some really calls today . even Tomlin commented
Earl [November 20, 2016 – 6:13 pm]: I know a win is a win but i was not impressed.
malsor [November 20, 2016 – 8:38 pm]: looks like aj green out for the year (torn hammy), gio bernard torn acl
