Updated Depth Chart
Depth Chart updated 11/5.
Pouncey is on IR/dfr. Eligible to practice after week 6, play after week 8, if his health allows him to do so.
This chart is a copy of the one posted by the Steelers. There are inconsistencies in the way that some players are used and their spot on the depth chart. For instance, you might get the sense that Boykin would play over Cockrell or even Blake. Hubbard is also listed higher than Legursky on the depth chart, but has been a healthy scratch in every game. McCullers was also listed as probable Monday and was inactive at game time.

Note, July 7 description: 38 S Ian Wild – The Steelers list him at 6′, 205 lbs. Winnipeg listed him at 208. There is a rumor that he’s up to 220 and is going to play ILB. I say, where? He’s behind Timmons, Shazier, Williams, Spence, Garvin and Zumwalt. Where is he going to fit and how are they going to get him reps? If this kid does anything at all in camp, and then gets cut, he will be the guy that fans are convinced will be claimed on waivers and become a Pro Bowler somewhere else.

Good stuff Ben, however, you’re criteria for determining a mainstay on the chart is a bit flawed–becasue we all know that Laundry Jones will both stick around AND he won’t make a difference….sorry, I couldn’t resist
I think Boyd has a shot. One quick observation though. They have 4 QBs, 6 if you count the reps that Murphy and Gardner are getting; but only 10 WRs. I wouldn’t be shocked if a WR gets added this week.
Richie Leone was cut. So you don’t think Wheaton will make it in the slot?
Nice catch on Leone. Didn’t realize he was still on this chart and Wheaton is listed as a starter until Bryant pushes him aside which, TBH, I expect by about week 1 or 2. But yes, I expect Wheaton wil make it as the slot guy. I also think the inside is a better fit for him.
Sorry Ben I totally missed the second row of WR’s.
No apologies necessary.
Thanks for this as always, abennihana.
